So I can't post links from my phone for some reason, but if you look up "Martin Fork Prospects Report" on YouTube you'll hear some interesting thoughts from Holland, Blashill, and Ryan Martin concerning Frk. For what they're worth you can look up George Malik's notes (I know) on Frk. He does an analysis of all the prospects at the development camp and main camp and has consistently noted Frks pensive approach to the game, but undeniable skill and work ethic. Hope it helps.

Arizona seems like as good of a place as any for Larkin's first career hatty. LGW!!

    Pav hits 1000

I always look at the 120+ games guys like Pav , Nic #5 and Hank lost due to the lockouts and totals they could have had. The biggest loser on that front was Stevie Y who finished his playing career 54 pts behind Gordie, no doubt if he'd have stayed fit he would have surpassed Gordies records.

Actually I think we could give Washington some good competition if it came down to it. We won against them once and lost twice and both times it went to OT and were single goal games. Believe it or not I think Washington would rather us be eliminated rather than see us in the playoffs. We've given them the toughest competition in the season so far, no other top 8 team in the conference has given them the close games that we have except Florida that beat them once. I think everyone else has gotten blown out by Washington in the games played. I could be wrong since I only briefly looked at their games played.

let us not forget these are high performance athletes we are talking about, for a regular person to undergo these kind of injuries, surgeries and healing processes is harder than to a professional player and Drew is as strong of a player as they come, I reiterate he's gonna end up more machine than man. So best of luck on all that's to come in Drew's way and hope to see him well and hopefully back on the ice soon.

    Pav hits 1000

Not sure if anybody else noticed but with Pavs second assist v LA he hit the 1000 pts plateau with regular and playoff games combined. This in 1067 games.

Give the Coyotes a streak in their hockey shorts when they realize the Wings have a mad on and light them up for 6+ goals. I will second the first career hat trick for Larkin, today is as good as any. Goose gets off his snake bitten streak, Zetterberg, Smith and Abdelkader. Multiple assists for Datsyuk, Green, and Zetterberg. Mrazek plays like a stud between the pipes. Let's Go Wings!

    Pav hits 1000

Well that's probably the first time I ever saw someone point out a milestone that adds regular season and playoffs. When I saw the title of the thread I was thinking.....there's no way he's at 1,000 pts yet (I thought he was approaching 900)....so then I was thinking it might be a question as to what we think his chances are of getting to 1,000.

Not saying we're a contender, but who is in the East other than Washington? If Habs have Price back then, sure, they could do it, but I think they're still lacking pieces. I think NYR are a contender, but any other team we could give run for their money. Even of the teams I mentioned, Washington is the one who I would be really worried about. So I actually think we're not far from taking the east despite our struggles. It would take the best from Mrazek and our offence finding a higher gear, though.

Im really happy with certain aspects of the team and very disappointed. Mrazek and D-Lark are fk'n amazing. Larkin will be the next Captain. Mrazek shows just how well he performs vs Howard and its amazingly impressive. Better yet, he is still very young and hasn't hit his peak. Disappointment by a large margin is our shots on net. Remember when we easily doubled up our opponents in that area and if we were even tied for SOG, we were having a bad night and probably going to lose that game. Now we are lucky to tally 25 on. The other negative although its not disappointment, but the inevitable, is D showing his age and Kronner getting pretty soft from his peak due to the same thing. I totally expect to make the playoffs again and not by the skin of Octopi teeth either. I don't think we are a contender but I cant complain with the performance we are seeing from a team with very young or old players on the team. Blash has change the face of the game, but I think some of his strategies are easily beat by more experienced coaches. He too will improve and I totally expect to see us trully contending in the next few years.

Datsyuk, Zetterberg, Franzen and Hossa broke 30 in 2009. Hossa hit 40 goals. 2008 Z hit 43 goals. That's the highest goals anyone's scored for a long long time. Before that Shanny hit 46 in 1997. We don't breed too many 40+ goal scorers it seems. Rarely. And 30 goal mark is almost achievable by a lot but not quite. Seems like our top guys always hover below 30. Basically what kliq just said lol.

For whatever reason our guys get so close. Tatar last year (29), Nyquist 2 years ago (28) and Franzen 3 years ago (29) and 4 years ago (28) but the last time someone hit 30 was in 2009 when Hossa, Franzen, Datsyuk, and Zetterberg all did it. Hossa actually had 40 that year.

Ouch, that does suck. Kudos to your girlfriend though for doing a marathon after that type of injury! I have high hopes for Miller, when you have a team dedicated to rehabbing you, and your "9-5" is getting that knee better its alot easier to recover then the average Jane/Joe. It would suck to lose him for the playoffs, we need that type of guy against teams with a high level PP. I would hate to face a Washington or Boston without him.

Yup, can't wait for the 2018 draft to go after Svechnikov's little brother, then 2020 to see him maybe make the Red Wings... Can't we just give the kid the 'C' now?...

Mantha and Frk with another goal each so far in tonight's game. Frk with an absolute bomb, but how else would he score?... He's very much like Pulkkinen, unbelievable shot, weak skater. Paterson is staring his first AHL game tonight, and has looked very good early on. Seems to be great positionally and quick laterally. I've never really been sold on Frk, other than his cannon shot, but 18 points (10 goals, 8 assists) in his last 14 games (before tonight) is pretty damn good. His skating has improved drastically though and that was his biggest knock when he was drafted.

Something I've been wondering, is how I'll act when I exit the arena for the last time next season. I won't cry, I'm not that kind of guy, but I know I'll be choked up, savor the moment, and even say "goodbye". As much as I miss Tiger Stadium, I'll miss The Joe a lot more. It's only been since the Tigers moved to Comerica Park that they've been good, so the thing I miss most about Tigers Stadium is walking out from the dark concession area and seeing all the colors, the green grass, brown dirt, orange and blue seats, and green grass. The Joe, it's watching Yzerman, Shanahan, McCarty, Fedorov, Ozzie, Datsyuk, Zetterberg, Lidstrom, etc, how loud the crowd gets, the red seats, Bud Lynch's voice, and a lot more. The Joe had it all! We're very lucky as fans to have our team and the arena. Let us know how we compare to a Canadian city. I'm curious.

It's great to see our stats master back! It is good to see you post in again, hope all has been well. That is a great surrender cobra on the ducks fan. Getzlaf looks like he is either about to do a Sling Blade impression or an impression of Shemp Howard of the Three Stooges.
