I dont get why you are so ridiculously low on our young guys Frank, Mrazek has been great this year. You are saying he will never be as good as Lundqvist, yet in his first season as a starter he is putting up better numbers. I'm not saying his is better, but you are really really downplaying his accomplishments this year. Lundqvist: 31-18-5......2.35 GAA.......92.2 Save % Mrazek: 26-15-6.......2.21 GAA........92.4 Save % Not to mention, Mrazek is playing in front of a defense that you consider horrible, while Lundqvist has one of the best defenses in the league in front of him. What does the guy have to do to get your respect?

Athanasiou is effin beastly, he rarely makes mistakes, always comes back and takes care of bidness defensively, and is fast as hell, hey need to play him more.

Just to play devils advocate with everyone. What makes you think anything will happen even if we don't make it? If anything I could see them make an excuse like "Oh it's a new coach he needs time, just give it a couple years and we will be a cup contender". If you notice almost every year since we lost Lidstrom - the Wings have pursued free agency. 2012 - Suter/Parise 2013 - Weiss 2014 - Alfredsson 2015 - Green/Richards. Hell if we don't make it this year Holland may think we've risked too much for absolutely nothing in return.
