Svechnikov is no longer waiver exempt, so if he's sent down, there won't be any calling him up. If waived, he would definitely get claimed. I'm still hopeful that Yzerman will continue ridding this team of bad players, and give Svech a look on the 3rd line. Otherwise, I assume he will start the season as the 13th forward.

Man theres some players who arent bad left available who’ll come in dirt cheap ... if there was any way of fittng in duclair x1 it would be nice cause i think hed be capable of getting 25-30 and that would at least get us a 2nd + (course if we take on a bad contract with assets scratch this) Id be up for this one more ... if yzerman isnt planning on bringing cholowski full time erik gustafsson would be a nice option x1 , capable of producing offense on the back end which we lack and if he can produce He’d be a good trade bait as well

This is what I see happening, and like I mentioned, Fabbri may get a look as the 3C, depending on what happens with the old, washed up Nielsen and Filppula.

Your hate for Blashill is unfounded. No coach in the league would have gotten much more out of the teams that Holland assembled the past few years. I'll wait and see what Blash can do with a competent group before I completely write him off.

I think any hope of being competitive is down the drain when we remember Blashill is still the coach... that's the ultimate tank insurance.

After kicking the bottle, Bobby is likely in the best shape, physically and mentally, he's been in, in years, maybe his entire career. He's been working his ass off through the entire shutdown, hired a skating coach for the first time in his career, and has cut down 10-15lbs. He still has a great shot, and will be that much needed right-handed shot on the power-play. Hot take: Bobby Ryan scores 25 next season.
