    Red Wings Sponsor?

In reading the press release, the contact info for the Red Wings PR Coordinator, Richard Bowness, was listed. Probably a good place to start if you feel lead to express your disappointment in this partnership. I would encourage everyone to respectfully state your position if you do call. And to be clear, I do encourage anyone and everyone who disapproves of this partnership to call in and protest this. I plan on letting them know that I will not be purchasing any Red Wing tickets or memorabilia so long as this partnership goes on, and I'm firmly committed to that. I will continue to bring up any points of contact worth writing to or calling. But again, please, be respectful! We as fans and oftentimes paying customers have a strong voice, but let's use it in a manner that reflects well on us. Anyways... McCrimmon, Salei on board Russian plane crash

Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord; even so saith the Spirit, for they rest from their labors. O God, whose mercies cannot be numbered: Accept our prayers on behalf of thy servant, and grant an entrance into the land of light and joy, in the fellowship of thy saints; through Jesus Christ thy Son our Lord, who liveth and reigneth with thee and the Holy Spirit, on God, now and for ever. Amen.

PROBERT/CHELIOS, SALEI... Do they need any more reasons to RETIRE #24... or at least stop using it?

Not sure if this has been shared, but here's a nice piece on Kindl's relationship with Salei http://redwings.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=587962&navid=DL|DET|home

Thanks, just made it this afternoon. I am also working on a few other variations. Also, reports are coming in that Galimov is able to talk and has cognitive ability. His condition appears stabilized for the time being. At least a little bit of positivity today.

Brunnström to try out for Wings

He's been humbled a little, that's a good thing - That is when players excel and reclamation projects in the Winged Wheel begin... I'm glad to hear this from him and think there is still a lot of upside to him, hopefully he earns a contract, has a real good year in GR this season with a potential couple call-ups and can fight his way onto the roster next season... as I've been saying this whole thread: having almost too many good, NHL-caliber quality players is a good problem to have

ITS A FANTASY RANKING Luongo had the second best GAA and fourth best Sv%. Price had the 10th best GAA and 7th best Sv%. Fleury had the 9th best GAA and 15th best Sv%. Howard had the 36th best GAA and 33rd best Sv%. His stats took a huge dive last year.

Prayers with all families/friends... Sad day, feel really bad for the families of McCrimmon, Liv, and Salei Sigh...

I agree, but on that note, lets not forget about the flight crew members as well. There were 44 or 45 people total onboard I beleive, not just the 38 from Lokomotiv. The crew members families are suffering just as much I'm sure...

That's enough. I don't care what those players, those men, believed. I don't care if they believed. Fact of the matter is that there's a team's worth of families missing fathers, husbands, sons, brothers. People are missing friends, teammates, lovers. For once, for one day, let's all set aside our beliefs and let people grieve as they see fit.

I read it and thought something probably pretty similar to what you did, but you didn't have to say anything out of respect. I didn't. This is about them, not you.

He's not just "having headaches." He has a brain injury. One could also argue that in light of today's tragedy, maybe we should all take a break from hating on players for petty reasons.

Hard to think about anything other than the horrible crash right now. But yeah, I love Brunnstrom's attitude.

    Red Wings Sponsor?

Thank you, at least one person in this thread understands the concept of personal responsibility. I can't believe people are actually ignorant enough to neg your posts. The good thing about capitalism is that it has lifted countless millions out of poverty, the bad thing about capitalism is that if you make uninformed decisions you lose your money. But don't blame the person who made the uninformed decision, he/she is a victim of the system and doomed to poverty by pure bad luck/scheming by evil rich people . On topic, I hate the fact that we have a corporate sponsor, but that has nothing to with it being Amway, I just don't want to see our sweaters start to look like the hood of a NASCAR car.

http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/blog/puck_daddy/post/KHL-8217-s-bold-plans-to-keep-Lokomotiv-running;_ylt=AmSOhSccVzMiUl6remxVXL17vLYF?urn=nhl-wp12124 A team will be created using players off of other KHL rosters and will play in yaroslavl. The salary for players will still be paid by the original team (not Locomotiv). Not sure how I feel about this. It's a nice gesture by the other teams and players, but it's only been a day since the accident.

Agreed completely. It's a shame some people have to flaunt it so arrogantly.

    Best One-Two Punch?

I too immediately thought of Getzlaf and Perry/Ryan, would LOVE to have them on the Wings....speaking of Wings duo's, haven't you heard, Hudler and Datstuk are the greatest together! Hudler even outscores Datsyuk! seriously though, Getzlaf and Perry/Ryan are about the best, they almost always have their way with the Wings...

Luongo, Price, and Fleury should not be ahead of Howard. The first two are based on reputation and the (canadian) market in which they play. If Pittsburgh hadn't won in '09, Fleury would be an above average back-up at best

And here I thought we could get through this without some pretentious religious crap. I'm sure Rusty's 3 1/2 month old son feels really blessed that god killed his dad.

I agree completely. I feel the exact same way you do and I'm just as hollowed out as anyone on this board. Just because I'm offended by people forcing their own beliefs on everyone else means I'm a horrible person who doesn't care? I'm sure I'm going to get massively negged by this, but I want nothing more than people keeping their beliefs to themselves. I'm not the one who brought up my religious beliefs. I don't want to hear that 13GoWings40 believes in god any more than anyone wants to hear I don't. Just as you're all compelled to respond to me, I was compelled to respond to 13GoWings40. Don't get mad at me just because I don't believe in god. And neither do I want to turn this into a religious debate. If you have something further to say to me, my PM box is always there. Let's end it there.
