turbowhistle86 155 Report post Posted April 30, 2015 With Babs presumably packing his stuff, who will be our coach next season? I'm hoping we promote from within, but what are the other options?

GoWings1905 2,694 Report post Posted April 30, 2015 I want and think it will be Blashill. They groomed him to take over for Babs. 1 LasVegasRocks reacted to this

BadgerBob 297 Report post Posted April 30, 2015 What makes you think Babs is presumably packing up and leaving? And it's either him or Blashill. Blashill has earned it and put in his time to be next in line. Blashill, with Lidstrom and Cleary Chelios as assistant coaches. Fixed that for you. Our team will be the best conditioned team in the league and he'll teach these kids how to play with a nasty side. 1 wings4thecup06 reacted to this
LasVegasRocks 6 Report post Posted April 30, 2015 The last time the Red WIngs produced in the playoffs was the Chicago series a few years ago. The Wings should have won the Tampa Bay series. This will probably be thought of as blasphemy, but I would not be upset to see Babcock leave. Something has got to change and Babcock is the person who can go with Blashill ready in Grand Rapids. Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted April 30, 2015 Blashill. Hopefully Granato sticks around as one of his assistants, got a lot of our D and PK despite personnel.

BadgerBob 297 Report post Posted April 30, 2015 Hitch? No thanks. This team is too soft for his style of play, we'd have a new record of injuries.

kickazz 5,459 Report post Posted April 30, 2015 I hope you're joking. Well with people ripping on Z and talking about Babs packing his bags and Howard being sent on a flight to Mars because Mrazek is for sure #1. Why would Tortorella not sound unrealistic? 3 sjr2012, Dominator2005 and evilmrt reacted to this

haroldsnepsts 4,826 Report post Posted April 30, 2015 I hope you're joking. Agreed. If they hired Tortorella I'm not sure I could follow the Wings, because management has clearly lost its mind.

evilmrt 636 Report post Posted April 30, 2015 Babcock. If not him, then Blashill. He's waited patiently. I don't see them looking outside the org for this one. I'd be happy with this one. It might help Blash to get the Griffs out of the 1st round in the AHL Playoffs though (down 2-1 in best of 5).

Well now that the Wings are done, he's got a few ringers available (Jurco, Marchenko, Mrazek). I think they'll be okay.
