vladdy16 2,154 Report post Posted January 25, 2016 Posted on Channel 7's (WXYZ Detroit) site and Facebook page. Is anyone besides me shocked? In not-so-shocking news, McCarty is also scheduled to play. 1 puckloo39 reacted to this

WingsallTheway 383 Report post Posted January 25, 2016 I didn't expect him to play, so I'm surprised. That is very exciting though! Glad to see he hasn't forgotten about us
kickazz 5,459 Report post Posted January 25, 2016 (edited) I'm not too shocked. The Colorado-wings rivalry means more to Stevie than the Leafs-Wings rivalry. Showing up for that, I figured he would come to this too. Edited January 25, 2016 by kickazz 1 puckloo39 reacted to this

GMRwings1983 8,794 Report post Posted January 26, 2016 Would be great if all the top players from both squads could play, but I doubt that is possible.

puckloo39 5,686 Report post Posted January 26, 2016 it's not like a 'real' game, it's for fun... although I hope the old Wings stomp the living hell out of the Avs. Oops... I would love it if Mickey was skating and playing, love the helmetless silver-haired fox that he still is... guy still has hockey smarts and chops out there, too! 4 TheXym, Gordie Howe hat trick, F.Michael and 1 other reacted to this

Ram 240 Report post Posted January 26, 2016 Definitely surprised considering his position for TB and their current debacle with Drouin getting a lot of press, though that will probably (hopefully) blow over by the time this game happens. As opposed to Roy and Sakic playing in the game, they can just walk across the street for it. But will comment that it will be great, the Wings-Avs rivalry really defined that era of DRW for me. I do not doubt that Stevie, and all others, will be there and won't miss their chance to pay respects to their teammates and maybe more importantly, their opponents. I didn't want to start a new thread but I read Mickey is coaching and it's gonna be televised Also... Which team does Krupp play on. He probably agreed then got hurt. kickazz 5,459 Report post Posted February 1, 2016 I ask myself this question everyday.. What if Stevie Y never inspired Hockeytown? Stevie was definitely a huge part of booming up hockeytown when I was growin up. But something tells me Mike Illitch and family would have gotten this team back on track no matter what. LeftWinger 4,963 Report post Posted February 1, 2016 All props to Stevie, but it wasn't Hockeytown until after Fedorov, Lidstrom, Bowman came here...
Barrie 900 Report post Posted February 1, 2016 It wouldn't be an alumni game without Stevie and DMac! It'll be interesting to see Draper and Lemiuex on the same ice again. Last I heard, Draper still isn't talking to Lemieux. I don't blame the guy.
