puckbags 863 Report post Posted April 14, 2016 Ya I agree if only they ran these lines.... Larkinr- datsyuk- z Mantha-sheahan-Nyquist Abdelkader-Aa-Tatar Helm-glen-Richards Kronwall-green Dek-Quincey Smith-March If we went with this and played everyone up front fairly equally, we could roll over Tampa no doubt in my mind Mantha is in the minors, those lines are terrible. Why put Larkin with Z, I can keep up to Z right now. Larkin should be with Sheahan and Gus.

Wheelchairsuperhero 1,453 Report post Posted April 14, 2016 If they do it by merit, Zetterberg and Nyquist should not be on the top 6. They're both useless right now. While Nyquist has been ineffective offensively lately he did have 2 or 3 Datsyuk-esque takeaways. Thought he looked pretty good that game, though he needs to learn to shoot. 1 derblaueClaus reacted to this
joesuffP 1,746 Report post Posted April 14, 2016 Dog poo in there own end. Lost so many battles and that comes down to getting out worked Having said that Tampa is not very good in their own end either. Much better at moving the puck tho This team loses all their energy when they play in their own end
Datsyukmagic13 4 Report post Posted April 14, 2016 (edited) Let the whining continue.... As disappointing as that 3rd period was, it wasn't a bad game considering our top guys were invisible. We've got a bunch of old guys who are at the ends of their careers and some rookies with no playoff experience. It was GAME 1. Nothing compared to the Bruins and Rangers games Edited April 14, 2016 by Datsyukmagic13
HadThomasVokounOnFortSt 878 Report post Posted April 14, 2016 I expect us to win game 1 and lose 2. Guess I was wrong. Win game 2 and we take series. Lose Friday and it's over.
GoalieManPat 1,007 Report post Posted April 14, 2016 Believe it or not I thought Richards played his role really well I agree. Richards was probably the Wings best forward tonight. I just wish he would have converted on atleast one of the two great chances he got.
MrazekFanBoy 223 Report post Posted April 14, 2016 We were the better team tonight, that's why the difference in the game was goaltending, Bishop made the big saves. I agree D coverage was trash Helm s*** the bed.
amato 3,210 Report post Posted April 14, 2016 I agree until the 3rd. The final 20 they looked like a little child cowering in the corner from stranger danger. Yeah minus maybe the last three minutes.. I especially noticed Dekeyser shying away from hits a few times
LeftWinger 4,963 Report post Posted April 14, 2016 This game has proven what most of us have said all year long. Holland has to trim the fat. Do not re-sign the UFA's, get rid of Ericsson and Howard. If you aren't going to play Smith, Jurco or Pulkkinen you may as well trade them. 1 Rick D reacted to this
GoWings1905 2,694 Report post Posted April 14, 2016 (edited) Joakim Andersson played more than AA tonight. Luke Glendening played five more minutes than Dylan Larkin. Winnable series being thrown away by this incredibly stubborn organization. Honestly, the decision making and usage is beyond inexcusable at this point. I have never been so frustrated by a team refusing to change their ways. Play the freaking kids. At least if we are going to lose, do it with something to gain in the process. Losing is one thing, but to continue taking this stupid approach of veterans at all cost is ridiculous. CaliforniaWingsFan 464 Report post Posted April 14, 2016 You won't get many chances better than the one Nyquist had in the NHL. Dude needs to seriously step it up. If he scores that, it could be a different game. I know hypotheticals are dumb but still. 1 Wheelchairsuperhero reacted to this

dirtydangles 1,328 Report post Posted April 14, 2016 Z and dats CANT be together anymore. They are liabilities in terms of speed. A line of scrubs with speed can take over shifts against them. Richards, Z, and Dats need to be on different lines and then let it shake out from there. Gone are the days where we could load up a line of big guns and outplay another line with skill when they have no legs. Z - Larkin - Tats AA - Dats - Abby Nyquist - Sheahan - Richards Andersson - Glendening - Helm GREEN - DD/Q Kroner - Marchenko E - reserved for like 12min a game in PK situations and the odd shift. PavelValerievichDatsyuk 1,935 Report post Posted April 14, 2016 Very good 2nd period. If we had kept on like that in the 3rd then we would have won. I hope Larkin, Tatar, and Nyquist make their presence know more next game. We had a lot of the ingredients for success tonight, but our offensive guys have to finish/make gain ice in front of Bishop. Hope Jurco plays for Andersson and Tatar/Nyquist are split up
Yak19 303 Report post Posted April 14, 2016 matchup is very winnable too besides the Wings and Wild the Bolts are the worst team in the playoffs imo i hope Z gets decreased minutes and maybe that will keep him fresher throughout and could possibly make him effective
GoalieManPat 1,007 Report post Posted April 14, 2016 GREEN - DD/Q Kroner - Marchenko E - reserved for like 12min a game in PK situations and the odd shift. Put Kronner in the same classification as E if not less minutes. Atleast E tried to push players out of the way. Kronwall just skates backwards until the goalies mask is nicely inside his asscrack. 2 Rick D and Yak19 reacted to this
KingBobCat 19 Report post Posted April 14, 2016 Once again, the sad trumpet plays for our beloved Red Wings this year. Why is it that Tampa Bay has all of these monster-sized guys shoving our guys around and we really have no one to answer the bell for us? Plus we have leaky defense/goaltending and no one can score a goal when we need one. It's a freaking mess! We need some personnel changes man......... 1 Yak19 reacted to this
LeftWinger 4,963 Report post Posted April 14, 2016 Lineup won't change and lines won't change. I am not a fan, but Smith should be in over E. Andersson in is pointless. AA needs top 6 minutes. But none of it will change. 3 Rick D, roboturner and NotTooAbby reacted to this
barabbas16 499 Report post Posted April 14, 2016 Just finished - had to watch on DVR. The good news is that, if game 2 is just like game 1, Detroit can win if they can just learn one lesson from game 1. The bad news is that lesson is "don't be complete morons and blow your assignments in the defensive zone." Which begs the obvious question of... why said lesson wasn't learned long ago by all involved. 1 AtlantaHotWings reacted to this

He should really just be playing the point on the pp and riding wing on the 2nd line with some speed players. His legs don't move anymore when you watch him. The breakouts that Z and dats had all went horizontal bc nobody could get their feet moving up ice.
GoWings1905 2,694 Report post Posted April 14, 2016 (edited) Why does anything think the veterans are going to be relied on less 83 games into the season? The Wings are clearly going down with that sinking ship. Blash isn't going to wake up tomorrow and suddenly give AA 15 minutes.
