A rare occasion where I'm going to jump on board with you in this one... It seems that no matter how much of a reasonable chance, or should I say utter and complete lack of a reasonable chance, our goalies have to make the save, nice you hit 3-4 GA, the goalie automatically is the problem. It's idiotic. Nothing a goalie can do but hope the puck hits him when your defense sabotages you on plays like the ones we've observed too often with this team. I don't care what you say about this though: our defense for the third straight season is profoundly inconsistent. This team will struggle unnecessarily until they get the defense playing somewhat close to the level they are more than capable of playing at. These issues with sloppy coverage all boil down to nothing more than mental laziness. McCrimmon very well may not be the reason for this problem, but he certainly hasn't been able to offer any semblance of a solution.

I was waiting for a reason to hate the Wings to be 'They got over a million fans at their parade, we only got 10,000... WAH!' I agree the Joe is old, but hate the team because we out-marketed Disney and copyrighted Hockeytown? Hate us because of 2002? I am sick of hearing that the Wings "bought" the Cup back then... Olausson, again NOBODY ELSE WAS INTERESTED IN HIM!!! Chelios we traded Anders Ericsson and a first round pick for WAAAAAAY back in 1999. Larionov was on this team for years... Lidstrom, Yzerman, Fedorov, ALL DRAFT PICKS! Shanahan was traded for in 1996 for Keith Primeau and Paul Coffey AND a first round pick! Jesus H! Now what part of that says we just pulled a New York Yankee's and threw a ton of money at a bunch of free agents and BOUGHT the Stanley Cup!!!?!?!?!? Pure Envy is all it is.... Hate the Wings because they are your rivals, simple. Forget all the other BS excuses and rationalizations!

As hockey is religion in canada i think canada deserves to have more nhl teams there, would be good for the nhl and the whole world to be honest...

When the two teams have something like one playoff appearance and no playoff wins in a combined 20 seasons of existence, I mean we're talking hard core futility, and the only traditional market that tolerates that level of suck and comes back is Maple Leafs fans.

*shrug* I'd rather see the Pens lose and Fleury continue to be winless on the season. Nashville's record doesn't really concern me at this point, since I think the real threats to Detroit in the Central are Chicago and St. Louis.
