Thank you. I get real tired of all the bashing of Ericssson. This kid never even played defense until he was 17 years old. And he is now PLAYING IN THE NHL, that to me is just freakin amazing. And it Kindl's FIRST YEAR IN THE NHL. These young guys are going to make mistakes. I remember all this same s*** being said about Jiri Fischer the first 3 or 4 years he was with the Wings.

Correlation doesn't equal causation. Also using Bert's scuffles as an argument that fighting helped win the game for the Wings probably isn't a good way to go considering it was Nashville who scored consecutive times after the two fights to eventually take a 3-0 lead.

Babcock and Cleary both said the fights ignited the team in their post-game interviews. Is that enough proof for you?

I personally think they should do away with East and West all together and go back to Campbell and Wales and have every team travel equally... you want real parity, that's how you do it... as for the moves, give Winnipeg their Jets back, move ATL to Quebec and call it a day... we can revisit what to do with that abortion of an idea of putting a hockey team on South Beach another day...

i don't buy it. both fights were won by bertuzzi, yet the first one didn't cause the wings to play better. additionally, the wings started the game playing physical so its not as if they needed bertuzzi to step up and keep the preds from dominating physical. i can only assume that it was a very concerted effort to play physical after their last meeting and had nothing to do with bertuzzi's fight. additionally, the second fight was very much about settling the score from their earlier bout. it had nothing to do with defedning teammates or anything team related. while the fights were enjoyable, i don't see them as related to the game. the wings played very physical before and after the fight. as noted earlier, the wings actually had good jump to start the game. so they had already been playing well. i am fine that cleary and babcock said the fights pumped them up. thats cool. i still think that means the fights had anything to do with the wings managing to come back.

Nope not at all what? He's not at all better than Salei or Kindl? Then why does Babcock continue to give Ericsson so many more minutes than either one of those guys? Why is it Kindl and Salei fighting for the bottom spot an not E? Tonight with Kronwall out, he moved Ericsson up to be the #4 d-man instead of Salei, a seasoned veteran who's logged 20+ minutes ATOI in his career. Is Babcock an idiot? Sure, Kindl looks pretty good for 13 minutes in a game. And Ericsson is going to have some gaffes when he plays 20 minutes. At this point guys, I'm not even just stating my opinion that Ericsson is better than these guys (I think he is, but it's not like I'm crazy about his play or think it's by a wide margin). But Babcock clearly thinks he is. If you took Ericsson out of the lineup, Kindl or Salei have to pick up a lot of those minutes. They're not going to look any better than Ericsson. Salei made a strong case for sitting out a game tonight, but on the awful penalty he took at the end of the game, it started with a terrible turnover by Kindl, but no one seems to see those. Like I said earlier, hopefully E and Kindl will improve and the Wings will have two relatively young, big, cheap defenseman on the bottom pairing.

Fighting has it's place. But there are too many staged fights and too many one dimensional worthless players. If I'm a Nashville fans I'm pissed that S.o.b. fought Bertuzzi. That's why I don't want a player like that on my team. I think the risk outweighs the reward when it comes to fighting, so I'd rather the team not fight until the instigator rule is taken out.

I'd love to see Killer do this more often. O'Brien must have been fearing paralysis there.
