He deserves it, that arrogant prick. Hope he has fun with his "market value" money losing in Columbus for the next 5 years

Funny comment I heard from the TradeCenter stream on TSN. First Ganger was in a lot of trade discussion, until he had his 8 point night against Chicago. Then LA was considering trading Brown, until he got his Hat-trick the other night against Chicago. Then last night, when Chicago had a shot at dealing a blow to Anaheim's playoff chances which could have led to some deadline moves, they blew it and Anaheim stuck in the race for the 8th spot. So this lackluster trade deadline is obviously all Chicago's fault

Post-TDT: Red Wings stand pat, no additions

This was the worst deadline market ever. NOBODY got a scoring forward, and the quality grit forwards went for a premium. I don't see why some of you are complaining. The fact that virtually no significant moves were made should indicate to you that the prices being asked for were exorbitant.

...and this just in from Columbus, for the rest of his contract, Rick Nash has developed Johan Franzen disease.

Give the guy a break. At least he didn't post something like "BAHAHA WE BEAT YOU!!" I thought we were supposed to welcome posters from other teams, as long as they don't troll the hell out of everything.

For those still lamenting the icing call officials gave Vancouver when they snapped Detroits home record a few nights back, check out what happened to the Canucks tonight against the Stars... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tnRFqycb6Js This win would have put the Canucks 4 points up on Detroit in the standings so enjoy... what goes around comes around!

*Peeks in.* So we're panicking? Cool. I'd have liked to pick up a scoring forward or Gaustad. We didn't. I don't think the sky is falling. No one improved vastly from where they were. Hell, I don't think anyone improved anything more than marginally. Sammy Pahlsson? If the players we already have aren't playing well, any additions would not have made a difference anyway. Continue your broadcast of chaos and doom.

Agree, but did the Wings get better at the deadline? yes they did Quincey+Smith > Commie+Kindl

I agree but demanding trade then giving a short list of teams that you would accept a trade to and expecting the GM to take all the heat from the fans and media because they think it was his idea is a bit much to ask for. I like Nash but come on. Do I blame him? No but CBJ need to get a boat load for him and he is handcuffing them. Bad situation

In other news, it's still February. Aren't we used to this by now?

Number One on Michael Gillis' "must have list" for the next GM's meetings: introduction of a minor penalty for "lollygagging".

Nobody is saying the wings are crappy. The frustration is that the competition got a little tougher to play against, we are not doing well on the road & we are beginning to see the impact of injuries. We are not built for playoff hockey & will not survive. Sorry, we didn't improve when we could have.

    freeredwings.tv stops streaming NHL games

Hello fellow Red Wings fans. Before the 2011-2012 NHL season started, I decided to register the domain freeredwings.tv and operate a site providing live streams of Detroit Red Wings games. Yesterday, I received a cease and desist email from an NHL attorney ordering me to stop any and all unauthorized streaming of NHL copyrighted works. With the recent arrest of a Comstock Park, MI man for copyright infringement, I have made the difficult and unfortunate decision to stop streaming NHL games. I am expecting my first child in August and I cannot get arrested, especially over something like this. I would like to thank the letsgowings community for always linking to the site in the GDT and being grateful and appreciative fans. I hope you enjoyed what I was able to provide. I would have loved to continue providing the service, but you can thank the NHL for ruining the party.

...but alas, that is what he said it was banked up for, that is why he didn't go for a larger UFA last July...how many times you going to listen to his garbage and rhetoric? He will not get Parise or Suter over the summer. He will not trade for Nash or anyone. He will draft small skilled forwards. He will tell us that "We kicked the tires, made some inquiries, but in the end we felt there wasn't anyone out there that would help our team..." God DAMN I am tired of hearing it! Overpay, just once Holland, show your team that you WANT TO ******* WIN! Your team is so inconsistent that they are going to lose 1st in the central, they may even get passed by Nashville too! You cannot win on the road, your powerplay is horrendous, now your home play has gotten abysmal, even the last three wins there were nothing to write home about...I am even betting that they lose in Columbus tomorrow...99% sure. Get ready: Bertuzzi, Hudler, Helm, Quincey & Abdelkader are going to be his signing's. Same team, same result. f*** I am pissed!

Even if we don't win it this year there's an offseason with good cap space and Stuart is most likely gone and Holmstrom may be gone. I see Lidstrom coming back but it will definitely be his last year. There's plenty of money to go for some good free agents and we didn't get rid of any good prospects.

Wow, some people are REALLY taking this too far. This team wasn't struggling before the deadline by any means. With the recent news of defensive injuries, I would have bet a lot of grabbing a depth player, but that's purely so you're not scrambling if you get unlucky. I've got faith in this team playing a lot more hockey, barring a string of injuries.

I remember when the trade deadline was exciting... sigh. Parity blows. I'd love to see at least trades for cash allowed again.

Just in....Holland trades a bucket of octopi and a 7th round conditional pick for Crosby, with the condition being that Kronwall gets to paste Crosby against the glass no less than 4 times per practice. Not confirmed yet....

    Ericsson out One Month

I can remember not too many years ago there was a lot of nasty s*** being said about Kronwall the first few years he was up. I think it's amazing that a player selected dead ******* last in the draft is even playing in the league and guess what, This so called pylon as so many like to refer to him as has made it on to one of the best teams in the league. Duh all you want. If the shoe fits wear it, if not then you shouldn't feel offended.

If I had GameCenter Live I wouldn't get close to 82 regular season Wings games a year. Without cable, I wouldn't be able to watch any of the CBJ-Wings games or any of the games on NBCSN. IMO the NHL would gain a lot of subscribers if the blackout restrictions were lifted- how many people would choose to watch via the internet over cable for those games? This problem is furthered during the playoffs, when most games after the first round are on national tv. I don't mind paying the NHL for full access to Wings games. Unfortunately, the NHL does not provide that option for users without cable.
