He's actually playing really good. i kinda like him at centre.

I'm holding out hope that Brendan Smith will be able to fill Rafalski's shoes in a couple years, after the rookie mistakes leave his system. He saw the ice so well last year during his brief stint. There's no way those games were all an accident.

I'd rather watch the kids screw up and make rookie mistakes and learn from them than watch some of our vets make rookie mistakes and often get rewarded with more playing time. I'm a lot easier on the kids watching their potential on the ice.

What a circus. NHL officials are the best.

Kindl has been in many ways our best Dman all year. he has played well. Kronwall has played better offensively, but worse defensively. Ericsson better defensively, but not as good offensively. Those have been our top 3 all year. Smith has made a bunch oif mistakes, but you expect that from a rookie. lashoff has been very good defensively, but is not a threat with the puck. I am looking forward to dekeyser a lot.

The Avs play-by-play guy is one of the worst I've listened to.

We lost him, Stuart and Lidstrom in only a few years. Since you can't replace those players, it's only natural we'd miss them. The reason we suck at puck possession now is because those guys aren't here to start the rush. The powerplay is also important, but secondary to playing the system overall. You can't play this system with such a crappy defensive core with untalented players.

All 3 goals this game really nice, unfortunately the Avs included. DeKeyser looking really good. You can really tell he's a smart Dman and his reach is long and he knows how to use it. Goose may be our best player tonight.

Rafalski was an excellent player for the Wings, and I'm sure that many of those who had castigated him for his supposed defensive deficiencies would prefer now that he were on the team.

Great conclusion considering the fact he hasn't even had a chance to play with Datsyuk or Zetterberg yet aside from 1 shift. No one knows if Nyquist would be able to compete or be a difference changer because he hasn't be given a chance. This is the exact same situation that happened in Toronto with Nazem Kadri. Ron Wilson played him on the third and mostly fourth lines other than that he wasn't allowed to play for the Leafs and was buried in the minors. This year under Randy Carlyle you now see what Kadri is capable of doing playing with good players. Not saying Nyquist will be top 10 in scoring but you don't know what you have if you don't play your players with the proper players.

Jimmy D embarrassed the Wings organization last fall with his farm animals comments, and got fined for it as well. It wouldn't be a big stretch of the imagination to see him retiring, Holland moving up, and Nill as GM. I guess that leaves Lids to come scoop up his Assistant GM position.
