Does anybody else get a little more depressed everytime you refresh the threads page and don't see "Brunner signed with Wings"?

I wouldn't mind this deal at all if A.) We'd already re-signed Brunner and B.) we'd been able to unload Sammy. I won't hate this deal as long as we don't re-sign Cleary. I will hate everything if we don't re-sign Brunner. I don't know if any if these things are related, but I have feels and it makes sense in my head right now.

Stay in Ottawa ... don't leave for $$. As much as I like the guy. Retire a Senator.

Sure, how we perceive this Alfredsson signing depends on who he is replacing. Is he replacing Cleary? Then it's a good move. Is he our "big signing" of the summer expected to solve all of our problems? Then it's a bad signing.

I haven't read through the thread, and I'm assuming I'm in the minority. I like the potential signing.

Age. Brunner has a potential future with the Wings. Alfie gives Detroit a season or two and then it's time to find yet another replacement for the offense with Dats and Z even older.

What is up with all the crying? It will be a one year deal that won't handcuff the team going forward. If we had Alfie's production in this past playoff run we probably beat Chicago. If anything it would give the Wings someone to win it for, assuming the right pieces come together

I'm pumped if this happens. One year deal, risk free. The guy can still play, can come up big in the playoffs. Perfect one year hold over until some of the youngins are ready to step up into a top 6 role.

So if he leaves the team he was on for years and years and years to come here and he wins a cup with us, do we have to retire his number, or is that just done by teams that are desperate to have something hanging from the rafters?

Big deal. Domi elbowed Niederwhiner in the face, and I didn't have a problem with that. Niedermayer swung his stick at Worrell's head and picked a fight with Datsyuk. Then there was that fake retirement crap where he and Salami only played half the season to avoid the cap. Also, he was a diver and a whiner. Guy was a piece of s***.

The Canadiens seem to do everything they can to keep the team at the minimum average height possible.

Floater? Grabo does not float around... he competes every single shift. He had an off year this season, but if you watched him he competes regularly. Even in the playoffs, while he was getting knocked around he continued to get up and compete. He does NOT float around like Semin. Also, he is a very good friend of Pavs, so hopefully Pavs can talk him and Kenny into some sort of an agreement because he would be a great fit here

Dear god please no. We need to let our kids develop. They have no value without nhl experience and we will have nothing of value in trades other than 35+ aging players.
