So here's a fun fact. The Griffins have outscored their opponents 39-18 the past 10 games (including tonight). Aside from the first 2 home games, back in October, they have scored at least 5 goals at home (also including tonight). Yup a strong veteran presence is always key, thanks goodness for all those goals by the experienced players. Least we know that the future knows how to play well at home.

Why would we buy out Franzen? The guy is playing like a true top 6 power forward and responsible defensively with a 3.9M cap hit. I suppose you'd want Tatar to replace his spot. No coach is dumb enough to do that and certainly not Babcock. I think moving Weiss to the wing will allow him to be an effective part of this team. Then we can save the buyout if Franzen's 3.9M is ever considered an over payment We need a puck moving defensemen. Edler would fit this team nicely then we don't have to play Quincey every night. Great PP guy has put up 60 point seasons and is just now entering his prime. You'd be crazy to not want him on the wings. With his recent performance with the Canucks he would never be cheaper then right now

Believe me, it gets very cold with a slight breeze. Baseball parks are a little more open and not really designed to block the wind (as much compared to football stadiums). My brother and I had on 4 layers, which included heavy winter coat and snow pants, and we could still feel it (temp was in the upper teens). It was still fun, but if I had on anything less it probably would have affected my enjoyment. Long underwear, wool socks and snow boots can go a long way; we dressed pretty much like we were going snowmobiling. So come prepared, and try to get a gauge on what works best at other games prior to the Winter Classic...since you can't leave once you're inside. Weiss has not looked good tonight. His positioning has been poor - he doesn't do a good job of making himself available for the puck which seems to big a major problem.

Just got home, saw the last couple of minutes. We looked good, too bad we're down. Don't expect us to score a ton with this lineup, PK has to get it together.

Excellent job on the GDT, Paulie! I think the Wings will win this one, because you did such fine work. The babies will step up and Mule will decide he now the Captain, with Z and D off the ice. Just kidding, I believe this will be Alfie's game to show what a captain does when the team is stressed. I have faith in my men wearing the winged wheel!!

He just seems unremarkable in every way. I didn't know much about him before but liked his stats and what I heard about him, but so far he's not shown much of anything. He's not fast, he's doesn't have a great shot, he's not strong on the puck, he doesn't win a lot of puck battles, he's not big or physical, he's not anything special defensively, he's not a great playmaker. I've seen a few glimpses of good stickhandling, showing he can beat a guy 1-on-1, but it's been too rare. Hope he finds his game, fast. I'm really starting to doubt he is a good fit for this team.

I was at the book signing tonight and I'm very glad that my friend went to get our wrist bands and purchase the books at lunch time. They sold out of the book, ran out of the stock from the warehouse and the place was crazy with wing fans. Dmac was very funny, talked to every person in line (we were the 93rd people to get signed) and is probably still signing books in the parking lot. He took pictures with everyone and generally was a very nice guy. He told the guy in front of me that he thinks the alumni game will be fun but he's not put on skates in over a year. He also said that while Drapes has a workout plan for the game, that he and Maltby would probably down some beers and go. I didn't ask him to sign my book "thanks for last night" but I was tempted. I asked him if my friend and I could "oreo" him for a picture and he laughed and said that was discussed in chapter 14. He grabbed the mic at one point and called the next group of numbers and told everyone that their order was ready for pick up. I have some pics if anyone is interested. He looked really good. Felt even better, lol. He's a nice solid hunk of guy. Ahem from a female's perspective, lol.

Preach. Bring back the nordiques. Or a Seattle team, as previously stated.
