I love the amount of skill and finesse this team has, but it needs to be complemented by some snarl. I'm not saying we should convince Peter Worrell to come out of retirement and think that's enough snarl, because ultimately, one-dimensional enforcers dont typically play in the playoffs anyway. There will be plenty of snarl available at the deadline. As it stands right now, I don't see this team being able to physically endure a long postseason. We're too fragile. Look how many players are hurt right now. Granted, every team goes through spells or injuries. We seem to go through a lot of them.

I actually very much agree with where you're coming from. I'm not really sure why I was disagreeing. I guess I just thought it's a bit much to say we have no chance in the playoffs. But I realize that, in saying that, I'm basically saying we should be happy to make the second round, maybe squeak into the Conference Finals. Which is lame. It should be a Cup-or-bust mentality, so: no disagreement here. We need to get much tougher if we want a real shot at the Cup. Definitely. If it has to be one guy, I'd like Wayne Simmonds. I'm really into the idea of trading Franzen (and maybe several other pieces) for a genuine power forward. Not that this would really make sense, but could you imagine Simmonds and Tootoo on the same line? Fireworks.

I really don't remember a season when injuries were THIS bad. I mean there have been a few rough stretches in recent memory but not to this capacity. This is yet another respectable quality player not on the squad for an extended period of time, and long term it's really going to damage this teams chances of making playoffs this year unless something improves fast.

It's impressive what an even keel the guy has and how much time he spends explaining things to players. Things I should probably aspire to as a mod.

This team is too fragile every year. Like I said last night, they need to see what they're doing wrong training wise instead of always chalking it up to bad luck. Seems like we go through this every year now.

Yes they can bring up Ouellet if needed, they have $7M in cap space as of today with all the LTIR. Bring Tootoo back up as well. I would sit BOTH Q and K and bring up Ouellet and one of Sproul/Marchenko/Almquist... Babcock, it's time to sit Cleary. Damn, at least sit one of Cleary or Bertuzzi....Tootoo deserves to be in this lineup.

I think the reasoning is that "Leafs" is the plural of a specific thing, a specific leaf, namely the Canadian Maple Leaf. The players play for and represent that leaf. But I'm not Canadian, so I'm probably wrong.

This would be awesome for NHL ref accountability. If all refs wore these we could see what they see during games and understand how their positioning may affect calls etc. In a way it helps fans understand why refs made calls that night and also holds refs accountable if they clearly missed things right in front of them.

Babcock claims to play the guys that work hard but yet Cleary is done and still draws into the lineup. Every player outplayed him last game but yet Tootoo gets sent down.
