Here is hoping that the boys in Red deal death and destruction to the flightless birds, that I see the red light come on in front of me in periods 1 and 3 (while it appears broken in period 2) and I have a happy drive home as my wife sleeps off a stinging loss. Every time I look at our lineup on paper I want to puke. It's easy enough to ignore it during the game because you don't see all the names in the same place at the same time, but god do I hate seeing it listed. Here's hoping they can ride Nyquist and "subtly interfere" their way to a victory tonight! Why did you marry a Pens fan again? That should be a dealbreaker 10 times out of 10.

And if you subtract the 7 games he didn't score in those months then he scored in every game he played in for 3 whole months. Subtracting facts to make your argument is asinine. Fact is when guys went down he stepped up. He can't carry the team forever and you can't expect him to score everygame when the other team knows that he's the guy.

Agreed on Legwand and Alfie, but not Gus. Nothing against him, but he can't stay healthy, and you'd have to think it will be time for Mrazek to be the backup starting next year. He has nothing left to prove in the AHL. It is time for him to star getting more ice time at the NHL level.

League minimum pro-rated down to a single day would be about 2,000 bucks. Which should just about cover the increases to his insurance premium when you consider he's adding a career in professional hockey to a pre-existing heart condition.

how many "next Gretzky's" have we heard about too? I do believe Jarnkrok will have a good career, but there is no need to compare him to anyone. For Nashville's sake, I hope it works out because they traded their franchise player for him.

Not that it matters much, but I don't think he's wrong in saying that Legwand was the face of their team. He was with them for 15 years, leads their team in games played, goals, assists, points, and who was an alternate captain. Certainly more so than Rhinne, and probably on par with Weber. I sort of see it as being like Dats and Z, neither really being "the face" over the other. But that's just my opinion on the matter.

Leafs lost tonight, Bernier is injured and Reimer looked awful. Let the tanking commence.

Sounds like Babcock is getting REALLY frustrated with the fragile players we have on this team. I can't blame him though, every time someone goes down they are always out for longer than expected. Sure could have used a defensemen Mr Holland.

Finally made an account on this forum just for this post, after months of reading anonymously. At the beginning of this season, I was all for trading a Nyquist or Tatar for someone that could help the D. Given the circumstances at that time, we had a bunch of offensive players and forwards, to the extent that neither would play, and we had an expected to be, weak D. An upgrade there via player that couldn't crack the lineup would have been massive. Fast forward to now, where Nyquist, and the Tatar/Sheahan/Jurco line has been the brightest spot for this team, I'm almost to the point where I'd say stay put unless someone is basically giving up a Dman. Our defense isn't the best, but Smith has improved tremendously in the past 20-25 games, on top of Kronner, E and DK. It'd have to be a Letang or Subban that got me to give up a Gus or Tats or anyone closely rated in that area
