Some of Guelph's sportswriters think that Bertuzzi is the MVP of that team despite not being near the lead in scoring. He missed a large portion of the year, both regular season and playoffs with injuries but still manages to put up PPG numbers playing on the 3rd and 4th lines. He also gets no PP time and kills penalties, even taking faceoffs in certain situations. Do I think he'll be as good as Mantha...No, but could he? yes.

Miller isn't going to sign for a 50/50 timeshare. Besides, that is a ton of money tied up in goalies. The Red Wings have far bigger issues to address.

Nothing he said was inaccurate. He said the Wings future was full of potential...Not full of NHL 1st liners. Just because they have potential doesn't mean they will all reach it. Right now the Wings prospect pool is ranked 3rd in the NHL, not bad for a team that has picked in the top 20 only twice in the past couple decades.

Point being; Babcock is one, if not, one of the best coaches at the present moment and has done far more with less than what other teams have; team needs to strengthen the backend; like a reinforced diaper, to keep that crap contained, otherwise it leaks out everywhere and becomes a big mess. Holland knows it, Babs knows it, the entire team knows it, all of Detroit and NHL fans know it, even the Eskimo who doesn't have internet and it takes 18 months to get a newspaper from 4 yrs again even knows it.

Really? Shanahan, Hasek, Chelios, Maltby, Draper, Murphy, and a host of other greats were all picked up by trade at one point or another. Trading is as important, maybe more so than drafting. Trick of course is to never overpay and try to underpay.
