No offense, but do you even follow the Red Wings? There is zero chance the most loyal organization in all of sports makes such a ridiculous move... Not to mention if there is one thing this team has an abundance in, it's top end prospects. Over the next few years, we will have more NHL ready guys knocking on the door than we have spots for... And you're suggesting trading our two best players that have done everything for the organization, for picks so we can overflow the system with even more prospects?... Also, we're really not that far away from contention. Is it likely we win the cup this year? No, probably not. Is it likely we win in the next 3-5 by maintaining the course we're on? I absolutely think so.

Would any bad team be willing to trade a top pick for those guys? Doubtful. Also, the bad teams aren't Cup contenders, so Pavel and Hank would not likely want to go to those places. The mid level or Cup contending teams don't have high draft picks, so what's the point? Holland and company can make good draft picks, problem is, we don't get high enough picks to draft a Tavares or Stamkos. That's what this franchise really needs for the future. And as I stated above, it's unlikely for multiple reasons that we'd get picks that high. We're stuck with hoping that Nyquist or Tatar turn into Datsyuk and Zetterberg type players.

I hate to say it, but this is a really boring team to watch right now. Which is odd because the first two months or so, this was the most exciting Wings team in years.

I love how Joack(off)man and Reaves can get 12 free crosschecks in on Glendening and how it’s open season for Slashing Datsyuk, yet Tatar got a penalty for that weak-ass s***.

I am not a violent man, but I will throw a shoe at you, sir/ma'am. We have plenty of young help here and in lower leagues - it's just not "blue chip" talent. Patience is a virtue.

Did we live in the same past 5 years? Because we are finally starting to see the results of all that reshaping.

I think we should be giving O'Reilly a long look. Considering we need to draft a surefire C prospect this coming draft we might as well try to use that pick in a package for O'Reilly. We have some Dmen knocking on the door already in GR and I would be happy to wait one year for a few to pan out. The real question is if Colorado is willing to trade with us after all these years.
