3 pointsMy condolences to those people that wanted to tank this year, we're too good. Hate to say I told you so, but I was one of the few who stood by Holland and was made fun of, I guess we were right. Usually when an organization loses franchise players like Yzerman and Lidstrom, it takes 10-20 years to recover. This has to be one of the best rebuilds on the fly ever.

Marchenko recalled from GR... Ouellet sent down
krsmith17 reacted to Euro_Twins for a post in a topic
He can suck it up like Tatar and goose had to. He will be back, but for the time being he was able to be sent down without being waived. It was the most logical move. -
1 pointA 29 year old Mike Green is too old to help us, but a 31 year old Johnny Boychuk isn't? Do you have a fever?

I think the team did just fine. Was not surprised that Petr bounced back like he did. -

That is especially brutal. NHL record for fastest shorthanded goal to start a period too, by the way. -

What should we do with the Monster?
number9 reacted to Euro_Twins for a post in a topic
So your argument about how poor the team played with Howard is that we wouldn't make the playoffs without gustavsson? If we had mrazek maybe we win those games anyway. I am no hater of monster but let's be real here, he didn't outplay Howard, the team just scored more when he played cause they don't trust monster to save the puck. -

He didn't actually outplay Howard at all. Howard had one of his worst years last year and was still better than monster. Howard had almost no goal support while when gustavsson was in net the team scored a full goal more per game. That's the only reason why he won all those games -

Getting rid of Gus would be extremely dumb. Goalie depth is a very good thing to have and mrazek can keep working the kinks out of his game in the AHL. -

The guy outplayed Howard last year People are seeing a few games (some good, some average at best) from a young goalie and would already apoint him the backup job. Thats exactly the way of how players are getting their confidence shattered in early years. -

As this recent rash of injuries has shown, you can never have too much goalie depth. Keep him and let him walk in July. I imagine they'll try and ride a (hopefully healthy and fresh) Jimmy down the stretch, so I'd rather Mrazek go to GRs and play some games and try and help that team into the playoffs. Let Monster warm the bench. -

CBJ's Jack Johnson files for bankruptcy
Ally reacted to LeftWinger for a post in a topic
Sometimes you make mistakes....JJ trusted his parents, Fedorov trusted a financial advisor and gave him millions and millions to invest...that didn't work out too good for Sergei. He thought he was hiring a professional and JJ thought he was in good hands with his parents. Greed kills and nobody is immune to now and again. -

CBJ's Jack Johnson files for bankruptcy
Ally reacted to haroldsnepsts for a post in a topic
Agreed. When I first saw the headline I thought "what a moron." But reading more about it and hearing what his parents did puts it in a whole different light for me. I guess you can blame him for being naive and not picking up on the problem earlier, but it's his friggin parents. The guy is likely busy playing hockey and trusting that his mother will be handling things and looking out for his best interests. Not having an agent didn't help. Agents are often evil, but a necessary one in the entertainment business. -

Not saying I'd trust him with millions of dollars, but you can't call him stupid for thinking his parents would have his best interest at heart. He made a mistake. -

1 pointHe's an idiot? Really? I can't speak for anyone else, but the last person in this world I'd expect to screw me over financially is my mother. It's one thing to be awful with money, but what they did with his money goes beyond being financially irresponsible - they milked the **** out of him. They treated him like a cash cow and ran his debt into the ground. The amount they spent/lost has more to do with their greed and taking advantage of a situation than it does with making smart decisions. Disgusting on their part.
