NBCSN showed a replay of Mrazek making a save off a deflection near the end of the game. How quickly he reacted to grab it with his glove was one thing, but the replay showed how his face and his eyes were tracking it so calmly the entire time. He is just solidifying his role as starter for many years to come. I mean this is the best a goalie has played for us in a series since Chris Osgood in 2009.

I am so proud of this team and how they ignored the potential effect of the meltdown last game... and destroyed the Blots. Awesome stuff. Happy birthday to me! They did it and won for me, and I could not be happier right now. Stars #1 Mraz (duh), Kronner #2, and E #3. I can't really argue with that... although I thought Miller (and his line - Landon and Glenny) pretty much are the x-factor vs the Blots. I will be happy to claim Monday as my "2nd birthday" if it helps. LGRW!!!

Babcock is outcoaching the hell out of Cooper. A testament to why he needs to stay. Our roster isn't as good as it's performing against a team like Tampa. This is coming down to goaltending, heart and coaching. I hope we win the next game to make it a 4-2 series and make everyone who wrote the Wings off feel stupid.

He's been nothing short of incredibly impressive. Imagine those stats if he had a team in front of him that didn't hand Tampa so many opportunities, and if the team hadn't collapsed last night? He really has looked solid even in the losses. But for him to come in here at this point in his career and do this in the playoffs, it's just unreal. I really didn't think it'd go down like this so quickly, but I think it's pretty clear at this point that we have a new starter. He'll still have struggles, and I expect next year will have it's ups and downs, but he's proving right now that he knows how to elevate his game when it matters most. That's exactly what you want in a starter and a playoff goalie.

im excited for Petr he is now my number one as much as I love Howie no doubt its Mrazek 1 jimmy 2 in my opinion

Boy, Mrazek sure making a strong case for being the #1 next season. Congrats Petr! Congrats boys! I am sure Jimmy will feel fine riding the coat tails of Petr!

Great win. That was impressive. This team needs to put this game behind them (like that last one) and show up for game 6. The home ice won't win the game for us by itself. We can't do what we did against Chicago two years ago.

so now I can't be proud of my boy Mrazek? I've been pulling for thus guy and hating on Jimmy for 2 years...but I guess if I don't like all Red Wings, I am not a fan. No, I am happy for the team and Petr...BTW the team would've been swept if Jimmy were playing, so ya you're right, they wouldn't be playing right now. I can nit like whoever I want to nit like.

I think we've seen Tampa's Best punch. I think the wings can handle anything and everything. Tampa bay really doesn't know how to get around Detroit's hustle and mucking up of the center ice. God how many frustrating games we had to watch against teams like Calgary and Edmonton that did that to us when we were like Tampa. I honestly don't think TB can play any different, and they're all confused. I think Detroit broke their spirit again. If the wings win this series, then they will have taken a lot of lessons and faced some major adversity blowing game 4. I still am amazed they blow a diaper in game 4 and then come into TB where TB is extremely tough, and win 4-0. Just wow.
