His first season up when we were decimated with injuries he spent the majority of his time with sheahan and Tatar, and they were a dominant third line. They kept the opposing team hemmed in their own zone the majority of the time and they were being praised left and right, then the playoffs rolled around and babs broke them up and didn't try them back together once despite us struggling. I was praying they'd keep those three together because the chemistry they had was unreal, and they really haven't been back together since. I don't know what's up. I guess the best we can hope for is during the time that pulks/miller is out Jurco plays too good for them to scratch him again.

The guitarist and pianist for Chiodos, and one of the drummers for the sound of animals fighting are/were red wings fans. Also the bassist in the blood brothers wore a red wings jersey at a show at the magic stick a few years back. And come on kickazz. Hanks wife doesn't count, but the eye candy never hurts. Also, calling anyone from nickelback a "musician" is being very liberal with the word.

Look at Jurco. Now back to the injuries. Now back to Jurco. Now back at the injuries. This is what the topic could be if Jurco were injured. But he's not, so let's get back to the injuries, please. Internet cool points to whoever gets the reference.

It blows my mind that people still keep saying that Jurco has been given fair shot. He hasn't at all. Not even close. I guarantee 100% that if Nyquist or Tatar were treated the way Jurco has been, they still wouldn't be scoring goals in the NHL. Neither of them were expected to play 4th line duty whatsoever. What makes Jurco any different? Because he's bigger? Bulls***! No skilled winger should be called up to the NHL (especially still being able to play in the AHL - referring to last season) to be molded into a grinder (something he's clearly not). Like has been said over and over again, Jurco hasn't had a fair shot since his rookie season when he, Tatar and Sheahan formed one of the best 3rd lines in hockey. Coincidence? I doubt it. I am and always will root for the Red Wings as a team first, but I am focused on Jurco because there is no way such a young, skilled player should be managed the way he has over the past couple years. Sure the Tatar - Sheahan - Nyquist line has been great, but coaches break up good lines to get other players / lines going all the time. Why should it be more important that we get a veteran like Richards going than a young player like Jurco? I think the short term and long term success of the Red Wings would benefit from getting Jurco going far more than a player like Richards that in all liklihood is gone after this season. Jurco has never been a liability on the ice, so it's not like we're going to lose games waiting for the offense to get going. The skill's there. Give the kid the shot he deserves...

that's not always the case. more than once our coaches have broken up lines that were going well to try to get one player specifically going. I cant recall blash saying anything like this this year, but babs did it/said it many times.and I know babs and blash are two different entities completely but the principle is still the same.I know Richards is a proven winner, and just came off winning a cup, but getting Richards back to a 40 point center now i think is less important than getting jurco going (to hopefully score 30 this season) Richards is going to be gone, we have Larkin we can slot into the 2nd line center position and I'm hoping sheahan is just having an off season, but he's awesome defensively and chipping in 30-40 points while playing shutdown d is a good 2nd line c. Jurco should be in the plans for the team past this season, he's big, fast, and skilled and those players come up big in the playoffs. Getting him going gives us more depth this year and for future, Richards is playing well enough, he's just snake bitten, and he's a smart player. We don't need to shake things up around him to get him going, he can do that on his own. And jurco with confidence definitely created his own chances, his speed and hands in tight are good enough that we just need him to have some semblance of confidence to carry the puck. Lately he's been treating the puck like its a hand grenade. He's versatile enough that we could use him in pretty much anyway, but he's not experienced enough to bounce back and forth and immediately produce results with only a game or less time to adjust. I wish we could get them both scoring, but if they both go on a tear we could be serious contenders. And Sheahan nyquist and tats have been Good, but Nyquist can do his thing pretty much anywhere(aside from the fourth line) moving him up in the lineup doesn't take away from him carrying his own line, just ups the difficulty a bit. were used to seeing/hearing square pegs put into round holes, but putting a skilled guy in a checking role seems more egregious. Its not a bad problem to have, but it comes with the territory when we have this much depth. Like I said, I just hope he takes advantage of the players we have out being out so the problem will sort itself out.

    Devils Sign Tootoo

Still hate how things turned out for him in Detroit. It's like Kenny tried to address a big need, but Babcock did'nt want it. Did they even talk at all before he was signed? So pointless and a s***ty way to treat a guy. Sign him then send him to the minors and buy him out.

This is why I'm suggesting that there maybe something more to it. Is Jurco in management doghouse? Did he sleep with Holland's daughter? Who knows! Wouldn't be surprised - he's a damn good lookin dude

I remember on several occasions when we'd sign a guy that could drop the gloves (Tootoo, Comodore) Babs would seem to commit to some value of having this type of player on the team by stating his usual term of ..... "someone to keep the flies away". Almost like clockwork, that said player would play game 1 of the regular season and get into a fight (of course...right??). As Wings fans we'd be pumped that we have a player who will stand up and throw down....then all of a sudden, that player would play less and less and eventually not get any ice time. I never understood this. Why'd Babs seem to support this type of player/grit signing (he and Kenny assuredly conferred on player acquisition) then when they played like they've ALWAYS played, he'd rarely use them. People have always claimed that some of these guys got into Babs "dog house", but it seemed like more of a pattern and bias against their style of play. I mean, part of Tootoo's value is his toughness...not all, but if you were going for a pure point producer there were other options (in this particular case, especially considering some perceived off-ice baggage that Tootoo carried - Not my opinion, but he does come with a stigma of some things that have happened in his past). Just never got that about Babs.

Holy s*** Milller sure gets some badass inujuries.... I mean it's pretty terrible but c'mon he gets a nice slash across the eye looking like some kind of bounty hunter and now he has a metal Jaw like a bond villian. Dude's a warrior. Hopefully he didn't end up with a concussion from that hit.

Just flicked Bickell like it was nothing. I wish I knew why he doesn't fight more/ throw more big hits out. Maybe it's the Swede in him that keeps his fighting skills/big body in a check mate. I must say tho.. Tootoo is stacking up on these one-hit knockouts quite a bit. What is this like his 4th one in his career?! He seems to be meshing well with the Devils

s***ty buzz. Miller could come back with a wired jaw and full cage. He won't, but he could. No big deal though.

Richards has been pretty useless ... Our offence has been good, nothing wrong with getting jurco going and giving us 3 good lines +helm glendening Andersson can do a good job on the 4th Anyways the way things are going wouldn't be surprised to see jurco gone during this season or dealt in the off season... Playing on the 4th line isnt going to do anything ....+athanasiou and Callahan can be called up at anytime Hope I'm wrong but I think his days are numbered

That's the thing though, I don't know if blash is expecting him to produce or to be a good grinder but then either the expectations are too low, or too high expecting him to produce with Glendenning and miller. It doesn't make sense. Hopefully, he does something good and he gets to stay in the top 9, but I don't trust Blashills plan for him Cuz it doesn't seem like he's getting a fair shake.

He needs to play with someone else other than glendening and Andersson We should be trying to get him going after his ahl stint went so well rather than 2 guys with one goal who will likely be gone next year The way the lines are now , bottom 6 I'd like to see Helm Larkin jurco Andersson Richards glendening Or put jurco with countryman Tatar Tatar Larkin jurco .... That could be a special line .... For now anyways he's on the 4th so I wouldn't be expecting much on the scoreboard

How many of those were on the 4th line with grinders?? Kids got talent , how about giving him 10 games In a row with a Larkin,Tatar, nyquist, hank or pav? We're clearly trying to make him a grinding forward on the 4th ... If this continues he will be go this yr or next, and I wouldn't be surprised to see him have a more of offensive role in another team

Ya prove himself on a 4th line with glendening and Andersson I don't understand Blashill , praises jurco .... Sends him down gets 1st star of the week after dominating there , comes back and gets scratched after one game No he gets another chance .... On the 4th line with 2 guys with no hockey skill ...don't get it Larkin is with helm who scored his first goal on a giveaway/open net and richards who has 0 goals .... Think it's safe to say Richards won't be here next year and helm will likely be gone as well, jurco should be with Larkin next game I understand it's the ahl, but jurco dominated there at 20-21, went back down and dominated yet again,it's not like he's some ahl veteran .... Blashill needs to give him some real linemates for 5-15 games Sadly this is jurco's last stand

Amazing that some people have still found ways to complain after such a dominant win. Great fight with a Wing standing up for himself? They're soft. Beat a decent team in Arizona, a crappy team in Buffalo, and good teams like LA and Tampa? They suck. We lose to bottom feeders and "this team sucks because they can't beat bottom feeders", we win against them and it's "wow we beat a crappy team, big deal." Can never please the haters.

More or less my view on the situation as well. Added to the fact that when he has played in the NHL, he has been underwhelming.

There's some definite message sending to Jurco. If he doesn't come out balls to the wall tomorrow then idk about his compete level. I wish he would commit to being a physical presence then just go from there.

I did not get a chance to watch the game last night except for the last few minutes of the third. Looks like we had a pretty good game despite losing a couple forwards. I am aware of Drew Miller's status insomuch that I heard he went out of the game early, but don't worry, I'm holding it together. ...and holy s***. Actually went to hockeyfights to see the Smith/Chippy fight. As Mickey said, that's as good a fight as I've seen with someone wearing a Wings jersey in years. Early right tagged Chipchura nicely. Chipchura, the obviously better fighter, got a few in on Riley's brother, then a couple sneaky rights underneath from Brendan. Wild right that misses from Smith. They both go down. Two consecutive games with fights... who is this team?
