what the hell? the same happened to Coreau when Boston was at the Joe last january, he got pulled, Mrazek let 2 in and we won it in shootouts. Believe me, I know... I was there :D. Come on boyz. Back our goalies up!

I'd like to see some of these opposing forwards think twice before crashing the net or trying to screen the goalie. None of our current D even attempt to clear the front of the net and if they did I'm almost positive they would fail. Kronwall - Old. Broken. Soft DK - Soft Green - Mobile. Good offensively. Soft Jensen - Playing above expectations. Soft Ericsson - Giant. Pylon. Soft XO - Soft I would love to hang out in front of the Red Wings goal. Free points. No consequences

He's playing better D than DD!

Isn't this how the last game against Boston started?

Can we send Drew Miller back to the AHL? This season is a write off, why not get a real look at Callahan?

You do realize (And Ive seriously pointed this out twice now) that Nyquist gets less 5 on 5 time and is 3rd in team points with lesser games played and spent 3 months on the third line? Yes Nyquist is underperforming but he's performing better than the following players. Nielsen Abdelkader Sheahan Larkin Tatar Helm The players I just named are all former/current top 6. None of then are producing better than Nyquist has, so if they're worse who takes the top 6 position if not Nyquist? An empty slot? No, it's not "it is what it is". You're factually wrong in your judgement in regards to production/contract and especially your argument becomes weak when you look at icetime, compare other players to Nyquist on the roster etc. We would all love for Nyquist to score 60 points. But the ENTIRE team is underpeforming (except Z and Mantha). But when comparing all the rest, Nyquist has the better production. Factually. Compared to Nielsens $5 million, compared to Abby's $4+ million etc. In fact I'd say Nyquist is the closest "living up to his contract" between Abby, Nielsen and himself. Speaking of which are you hating Abby and Nielsen as well? Because since you claim it's not "blind hate", you should objectively "hating" them too.

If other teams aren't going to respect us for our skill, they will learn to respect us for our fists. Powerplay isn't the enforcer anymore, clearly.

New Dylan actually uses his size and is infinitely cheaper with room to grow. New Dylan all day.

The point that Blashill and others (Redmond, Daniels, etc) are making about Zetterberg "willing the team" into the playoffs in the past is that he has the ability to elevate his game above his limits and trying his best. As in he's putting all his effort in and more. He's not SUPPOSED to be doing that. It's unnatural for a 36 year old player (with his injury history) to be scoring and playing like he is right now. Basically Zetterberg is OVERPERFORMING for his age. That's where the whole narrative of "willing the team" comes in, especially now. As in, the player isn't technically physically supposed to be able to do all this but the mind/ will is helping him to keep pushing himself to score at the rate he is. It's like having a runners high after running the first 2 miles. So no, the argument wouldn't necessarily work the other way because if he doesn't will the team to the playoffs, that would be the normality; it's expected. No one player can do it. But if he somehow does it, that's abnormal, unusual, spectacular. The thing that's being said about Z is that he's done it in the past with some help; (2013 for instance he turned into a beast the last 10 games or so). Also had lots of help from Howard who stood strong in net. . But this time he's all alone without any help and THAT'S what's making all these people impressed.

There's no reason either Ken Holland or Jeff Blashill should have a job after this game. I wish Putin was the owner of this team.

Nyquist IS playing up to his contract. He's producing right around where a $4.75M player should be. Like I said before, Nyquist is playing above his head, he should be playing 2nd line, but he's defaulted to top line because there aren't any other (much) better options. Someone has to get those minutes, and if not him, then who? Larkin? Athanasiou? So what happens if / when they don't put up top line numbers? You blindly hate them? Or would you think about the situation rationally, and understand that they too would be playing above where they should be in the lineup... And don't take any of this as me saying we should never trade Nyquist, because I've stated several times now that I would trade Nyquist or Tatar in a heartbeat, if the right return is there. I argue when you say they are "useless", or they "suck", or we should just "waive them", or hopefully "Vegas takes them in the expansion draft", etc. etc... They are both very good players that would fetch a good return, so to just give them away would be horrendous asset management. We waive a top 6 AHL player like Frk or Pulkkinen, Holland is a complete moron, let's waive top 6 NHL players... Logic.

This wouldn't have happened to New Dylan had he been called, in fact quite the opposite would have happened.

    2017 Draft

If we get a top 4 pick, you want to trade up to get Patrick? That would cost a major asset, all for a guy that isn't even the undisputed number one in the draft... I'd personally rather keep our asset and the pick and hope to get Vilardi or Tippett.
