This is why I hate the Zadina controversy. It's because it's a nontroversy. It always is. Like @Wheelchairsuperhero said, he's got a sore hamstring. And even if he didn't, we shouldn't be passing any -- any -- kind of judgment based on a 15 second clip from development camp. (Even me saying that makes it sounds like there's something worth being concerned about. There isn't.) Dude is young. Dude went pro early. Dude did well in his rookie pro season. Dude actually played very well at the WJC this season, but it didn't show on the score sheet. Dude played very well in his stint with the Wings, but it didn't show on the score sheet. Dude has a surprisingly strong two-way game, but we're going to ignore that because reasons. If that means "Jurco until proven otherwise," ok. But, as I've said before, I think that's silly. He could be a bust, but let's not pretend the body of work is pointing strongly in that direction.

Considering he's doing it with a minor hamstring injury, I wouldn't judge him at all by it. Again, pointless to bring this discussion back up, nobody's convincing anyone of anything. People want to trade AA because they think he's the most expendable of our good trade assets. But considering that's a pretty short list, it's not an unreasonable thought. Trading him for a draft pick or prospect would be loser hockey though.

Say about Mackel what you will, I'll let him speak for himself... But I agree with him. I just dont see the same overwhelming appeal there is for Zadina, that everyone seems to see. Honestly, I'm not judging him fully by the practice sequence posted, but he looked average and even kind of lackadaisical in that. I almost feel like we have another Mrazek on our hands. Everyone will praise his potential and raw ability for years, but it will never show up on the scoreboard. I will say he sucks and those who disagree will say just wait. IDK That said I am in need of a trustworthy eunuch if you know any Yeah I would say this... Def buy while it's on sale. $4.99 is an incredible price. I was completely overwhelmed by the game at first and didn't really seriously get into it until 2 years after buying it, when I found the time. There are a lot of aspects to the game (which makes it fun) so it has sort of a large learning curve. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions setting the game up properly, this is important, or if you have any strategy questions. There is a ton of strategy to game from hiring staff, to coaching styles, etc. I had to learn a lot of the strategy stuff through trial and error on my own and wasted a lot of time Fing around. For example hiring assistant coaches with the same coaching philosophy and line matching tactics as your HC will greatly improve your teams performance I've found. So its often smarter to avoid the best assistant coaches and instead hire someone who will compliment your head coach. That took me a ton of time in game to figure out. The game has a ton interesting and seemingly very realistic features like this.

AA is the highest scoring 3rd liner in the league. Lets trade him.

I disagree with the bold. I think Mantha has as much or likely even more value than Athanasiou. I personally value Mantha a hell of a lot more than Athanasiou, and I think most teams would as well. They're both very good players, but if we're trading one for help on the back end, it's AA for me for sure.

Regner confirms Berggren was the guy we were targeting with the pick we ultimately used on Veleno.

AA scored 54 pts from thr third line last year. You gotta be on dope to want to trade him. We have 2 players that can generate offense by themselves. He's one.
