Assuming we don't draft in the top two, I'm all aboard the Stutzle bandwagon. Kid's got offensive skill, has decent enough size (and will grow), is torching a men's league (that is better than I thought it was a year ago), and could play in the AHL next year. Slam dunk.

What projections have I been wrong about? What players have I flip flopped on? I suspect you have nothing to back any of this up. Meanwhile I can dig in to you on your bad player evaluations pretty easily. That's the difference. I warn and encourage you to go down this road.

I can't really get behind the conspiracy stuff either, it's a new era and the Wings aren't a stacked dynasty anymore. Even as a last place team, attendance is still high and it's one of the higher revenue teams in the NHL. There isn't some underlying scheme out to get them and setting them up to fail. If it were the NFL I may entertain that idea a bit more.

How is thinking the league has it out for the Red Wings at all "realistic"?...

Even if we finish dead last, it's something like 18.5% odds of getting first overall pick. It's nothing amazing like a 50% or better chance. Sure it gives you the greatest percentage, but that percent isn't that great. There's still an 81.5% chance of not getting first overall.
