not trying to sound like an ass here, but a lot of people on here do bust out the sky is falling attitude the moment something doesnt go right. pretty sure that is all he is alluding to. i dont get the impression he/she is coming off as condescending at all.

It's the third game of the season. It's their third game in four nights, with the toughest team at the end. *shrugs* LGW!

Some ppl on here are super annoying. Old, Bruins are better than us in every category? Come on, get a grip of yourselves and act like you know at least a little about hockey. It is super obvious that the boys are tired. They are behind 2 steps skating, their passing is off (EVEN PAVS!) and there is far too much puck watching going on tonight. BUT, this is their 3rd game in 4 nights... that is hard to start a season with because you are not yet fulled conditioned and add to that, we have some new faces getting used to the system. Long story short, imo, this game does not tell me anything about our team if we lose. When we are rested, I think the red wings will compete with the bruins and are pretty much even with them except our top line is better than theirs. Lets relax, the boys will have 5 days off to actually work on some things such as the PP.

Absolutely brutal. This isn't a test. The better team is winning this game. No excuses. Sad.

You know your team sucks at the PP when your home-commentators don't pay attention to the game but talk about other teams assistant coaches.

    Breaking Bad

So, do you guys like my new avatar? Made it myself, wasn't that hard. My favourite series ever btw, just mind-blowing stuff and great drama. Such a shame it ended already.

Is this a joke? Your pro-fighting stance is due to your concern for the players' safety? I'm sorry, but that does not make any sense. Look at the amount brain damage these guys sustain. For enforcers, drug abuse and alcoholism are common ways to cope with the the crippling depression that often accompanies such brain damage. Read that Boogard article. It features several players who talk about the long term effects, such as the onset of dementia. You cannot say that your position is in the interest of player safety. Despite your denial, your position is based on you being entertained. You even say so in your other posts where you say how you love hockey much more than sports that are less tolerant of fighting. If you really are motivated by player safety, then I encourage you to do some research on the effects of sustaining repeated punches to the head, or you just read some of the stories of former enforcers who have to deal with a severely dimished quality of life due to their lifestyle choice. You will see that hockey does nothing to make the make the game any safer.

This is all I have to say about the subject. I love the fights, not the staged kind. And, I think Yzerman is wrong and should be more concerned about his team than fighting.
