Look who's top in GR scoring

Dirty Harry scored his team leading 14th goal for the Griffins last night and seems to be making a strong case for a job on the Wings next season. He has cut down on his pims considerably and has actually shown the coaches he can play as well as agitate. A fourth line of Sheahan Tootoo and Callahan looks an intriguing one which may just happen.

Yes, but I still think it's unfair that he gets to use a .44 Magnum. I think it gives him an unfair advantage on the ice. No goalie is going to stop that shot. Well, maybe Hasek ... with his teeth!

So you're saying just because JJ is playing for Richards (after all it was GM decision to trade for JJ) he must choose him over those who he thinks would be better to team USA? It is not how it works.

This is actually good news, the NHL is seeing growing support regardless of the lockout problems. Maybe if more players were outspoken and threw their fingers in the cameras screaming they were number one it would gain more popularity and be on par with the NBA but I prefer having humble players with a reasonable amount of sportsmanship over a bunch of cocky showboats like the NBA is filled with. It's a team sport and the NHL seems to understand that for the most part, there are a lot more individuals that like to make it known that it's "all them" and enjoy talking about themselves over the team effort to gain more of the spotlight.

http://bluejacketsxtra.dispatch.com/content/stories/2014/01/08/olympic-team-snub-frustrates-johnson.html I fully support and understand him, if my *own* coach isn't willing to go bot bat for me, I would be having a hard time giving my all and more for him. Seriously, Jack Johnson was traded to the BLue Jackets, came in with a positive attitude and that's the kind of "thanks" he is getting from Richards ? Man if my personal coach would tell others I'm not good enough I would be changing him immediately. Richards should kiss his .... thanks to players like JJ he is still having a job, yeah the guy [JJ] may not have the best season, but he is still miles better than the likes of Faulk. So how about backing him up and helping him out instead of basically throwing him under the bus ? I'm starting to wonder, if team USA should change their braintrust, I think some of them can't spell the word "classy" it just isn't in their vocabulary.

It is a very good roster but their defense to me doesn't seem to be that good, especially compared to the very good Canadian one. Would have prefered Hedman or Murray over Oduya. In the coming 4 years let's hope Nyquist is going to play his way onto that way.

team USA all the way but count me in as well as rooting for Sweden as my 2nd team. I find this Roster to be the best on paper IMO.

Everyone wants to get with his wife. Probably for the best. Can you imagine what'd happen if he were to singlehandedly submarine Team Canada? I'd fear for his life.

Exactly. I don't want the game to change just to attract more fans.

I legitimately feel like one of the worst snubs aside from Giroux was Hudler. Him being a legend aside, he's tearing it up in Calgary with 35 points this year, and he's happy huddles! Who wouldn't want that face representing their country? And I mean seriously, Petr Nedved makes it?

I know hockey will never be a major sport because of the cost of entry and the geographic nature of it, but I never understood why it never garnered the same attention that gets thrown at the NBA. For at least the last ten years it seems to be as successful business-wise, and as popular, yet hockey almost never gets mentioned on sports radio. And when it does, it gets dismissed as a joke most of the time or the host admits he knows nothing about it. It's great to know that the NHL is a success, but I'd like to see more mainstream acceptance. It'll never be NFL of course, but the NHL deserves at least as much attention as the NBA.

Awwww shiiiiiit man. You shouldn't have done that. You even know who you're messing with? Do you have any idea what they'll do to you? Can you even imagine the kind of hell they will bring you? Prepare to meet your maker! Prepare to face fear itself! There is only terror! Fear it! Fear them! DOOOOOOM!

I felt let down. I didn't feel like we got to know much about our players, I wanted to hear Pasha's wisdom, and I agree with the other posters- too much shots of them skating in slow mo... we have enough slow mo skating from Bertuzzi and Cleary.

Tre Kronor is the team to beat, easily. Sorry folks, but I'll be cheering for them. The way Team USA 's management has acted has just really put me off.

    Datsyuk vs. Zetterberg

Simple: All things considered, who's the better player. Knee jerk is obviously Datsyuk because of his skill level, but I've been thinking about it and conclude that Zetterberg is the better player. Skill alone doesn't make one better. Their points per game are nearly the same, very slight edge to Datsyuk. Both are extremely good defensively. Datsyuk has the hardware and the takeaways but in my opinion Zetterberg gets the tougher defensive matchups as evidenced by his shutting down Crosby in the finals in 08 and 09, and doing the same to Toews last season. Datsyuk is the better passer while Z is the better goal scorer, though neither are too shabby in either department. Both makes their linemates better. Z is (in my opinion) more versatile, able to play both center and the wing with equal aplomb. Dats hasn't ever shown much from the wing. Finally, intangibles. Zetterberg ALWAYS rises to the occasion, scoring key goals when it matters and is a playoff beast. Dats is by no means bad in the playoffs, but Z is a monster. Also, Z seems to have the ability to carry the team on his back for extended periods and generally relishes the role. Finally, Z's got the leadership capacity in spades. Dats leads by example, Z in every way possible. So, your thoughts?
