I "liked" your post, but just to make it clear, I don't "like" it, I just agree...

Kenny's the MAN. Says a lot about Red Wings culture that he never really had to deal with a situation like this in his bazillion years with the Wings.

Heard Pierre McGuire on the radio say he’d give up a 3rd rounder at the most ..I’d give up the 2021 Vegas 3rd for him + delarose ... I really doubt Holland will trade with yzerman though I can just picture him getting mad at Stevie ... it’s your f***en fault I’m in f***en Edmonton! f*** you! And hangs up with his hands shaking nonstop .... sniffs a line of coke haha

As it stands, the Rangers rebuild has more pieces in place (counting Kakko) to compete for a cup sooner than the Wings. Just saying.

    2019 Draft

JD Burke - "Source" has informed him that it's more so Yzerman that wants to move down, than Benning wanting to move up. Yzerman initiated contact... - I bet... JDB - Yzerman wants to draft for need (a defenseman), and wants to move back to take a Soderstrom or Seider... - Yzerman has stressed BPA. That hasn't changed... JDB - There's a chance that Byram could fall to 6... - In which case, Yzerman would never trade the pick... JDB - Byram, Turcotte or Zegras would be Benning's target... - Byram and Turcotte are all but guaranteed to be gone top 5. Zegras is 50/50... JDB - The Red Wings are looking good on the left side of their defense with Cholowski and Hronek, which is why they might be interested in one of the righties... - Hronek is a righty, you idiot! JDB - If Byram or Turcotte are available, Canucks would have to pay a premium... - Well, no s***! JDB - Canucks could use Jett Woo, or late round picks as sweeteners... - LOL WTF??? JDB - Red Wings prospect pool is poor, due to lack of picks over the past few years... - Yeah, this guy is a complete ass hat...

Yes. Now he should trade Puljujarvi for the $5.25M top six center he signed for too much for too long...

    2019 Draft

I'd be okay with 6th and 60th for 5th.. if it took any more than that, I agree with what KRS said. that is, if we're the ones calling LA about the pick. If LA is calling us about moving down a spot, I'd think it's because they want a center and have multiple options. in that case, I'd just wait it out.

EVERYTHING!!! Nah, at that point I'd hope LA take one of the big centers from the Dub, and Byram drops to us at 6. If not, take best player available.

At least he wouldn't be moving far would be pretty funny to see him play in the same division against Vancouver

I feel that's too much quantity, not enough quality. Hughes is only one year removed from being drafted 7th overall and has done nothing to indicate that was too high yet. If he were to struggle this coming year in the NHL, and a trade like this were discussed next year, it would feel more likely. But Vancouver is probably still too high on him for a trade that is basically just compiling extra prospects who aren't as highly touted as him.

    2019 Draft

Indeed. If the Canucks are gonna want our 6th - they'ii have to pay - so naturally ask for the moon, and maybe Yzerman gets it? Sure some, or all of our 2nd round picks might be in play too, but for a legit hi-end prospect (like Quin Hughes) it would be worth it. I'm expecting an interesting Friday night, and weekend...Should be fun.

    2019 Draft

Unless Yzerman and his scouts legitimately believe that Soderstrom / Seider / Broberg is the best player on the board, and knows they would be available at 10, it would be a mistake in my opinion. I just don't see Yzerman drafting for need. It's never been his M.O. We need elite talent, quality over quantity. Take best player available.

    2019 Draft

That's my f***ing point... No one said any of these "asks" are reasonable. How often do you think trade talks get nixed because the ask is too high? All. the. f***ing. time... If we wanted to move up to 3 or 4 to draft Byram. The ask might be our 6th plus Hronek. Would we do it? Hell no! But why would they ask for anything less? I'm sure they're quite content to make their pick, just like I'm sure Yzerman will be content to make his pick at 6. Unless, his target is Podkolzin or Broberg, which I highly doubt is the case...

Nielsen (50%) for Pulu and Manning. They get a good 3rd line defensive center for minimal cost this year, and fairly cheap the next two, and it only cost a kid who's probably a bust. We get a small chance of good young player, and all it cost us is a little dead cap space.

Is there ever a scenario that ultimately doesn't morph into you all trading AA?

    2019 Draft

Keep in mind that Brian Burke made a deal that acquired both Sedins...IMHO it's unlikely that we'd see us landing Quinton Hughes, and a quality pick at #10, but I'm thinking if that pot were sweetened with a few of our 2nd round picks...

    2019 Draft

Both of us acknowledged that it wouldn't happen. We're just saying that if the Canucks truly want the 6th overall pick, they would have to be willing to massively overpay. I wouldn't do it for the 40th overall pick, because the players I want wouldn't be available at 10. You're one of the few people that think Podkolzin would be BPA at 6, so it would make sense why you would make that trade, since it's a high probability that he will be available at 10. If Benning wants to move up 4 spots in the top 10, he would have to pay. Of course we're not getting Boeser or Hughes in any sort of package, but anything short of that, f*** off. We'll keep our pick.

The ONLY way I swap 6 for 10 is if Quinn Hughes is coming back with the #10. If that sounds like too much to happen, then oh well, I keep my #6. You wanna play, you gonna pay!

    2019 Draft

Yes, even compared to the handful of other prospects who play in the pros. As an 18yo, Erik Karlsson scored 10 pts in 45 games in the SHL, and was also loaned to an Allsvenskan team for 7 games, scoring 1 point. Here's some all-time PPG rankings for U19 defensemen to play at least 20 games in the SHL (top list) and Allsvenskan (bottom). Nothing about these lists to suggest that offensive production (or lack of) at that level indicates anything. The fact that Broberg is in there at all at 17yo is why he's considered a high end prospect. I think Yzerman needs to draft a few French-Canadians in the later rounds. Prop them up - make them look good - then in a few years Stevie can ship them off to Montreal for some of their best talent. After all these years the Habs still got that raging provincial hard-on for French speaking players

Yeah, I'd also add that it may take Rasmussen a little longer than some of our other prospects to fully develop. It sometimes takes the big "power-forward" types a little longer to find their game at the NHL level. Look at Mantha. He's 24, and only now coming into his own. I wasn't thrilled with the Rasmussen pick, and wasn't overly impressed with him this season, but I'm definitely willing to give him another year or two to see how he progresses.

Just realizing now that the Jim Lites that orchestrated Fedorov's defection is the same guy that called Seguin and Benn "******* horse s***" He's a double hero, basically.
