He's not implying that, but there really is no competition in Women's Hockey, it comes down to USA and Canada every time. Women's Hockey just doesn't matter as much as the Men's for most Canadians, that's the reality. We will cheer them on, but people don't drop everything like they do for the Men. Not sure if USA feels the same however.
I WILL NOT WARN ANYONE AGAIN. THE NEXT PERSON TO ACT LIKE A SO-AND-SO AND/OR HAVE POSTS DELETED WILL BE BANNED FROM THE OLYMPIC THREAD(S) FOR THE DURATION OF THE GAMES OR SUSPENDED FROM THE BOARDS FOR 30 DAYS - YOUR CHOICE.
Denigrating a country or it's citizens is completely unacceptable. Anyone participating in such a discussion will be persona non grata for an appropriate length of time.
The Olympics were created to encourage good will and inspire friendly competition. Please let's enjoy these games in that intended spirit.
Also, I would like to take this opportunity to remind everyone about the "Report" button. It truly is your best friend behind Matt. If you see a post you feel is against forum guidelines, it is VERY helpful to use the report function.
1) Vladdy's medical bills are being paid for by the limo's insurance company.
2) Fundraisers were held for at least two years following the accident.
Anything else is pure conjecture on our parts. Fetisov has no proof of anything, there is nothing online that's recent, no one here lives with Konstantinov and no one here is Mike Ilitch. We're all welcome to our opinions and gut feelings, but that's all they are at this point. We shouldn't lambaste anyone without having a shred of something concrete to go on.
There's definitely too many outdoor games and having Kiss play was awful, but the snobbery in this thread is hilarious. And aren't being honest with themselves about the level of play in the Winter Classic under those conditions.
Also, a few people don't seem to realize the Los Angeles Kings have been in the NHL for 47 years.
If it's snobbery to think a red carpet at a hockey game is ludicrous, then I'll gladly embrace the snob label. It was turned into a circus and a place to be seen rather than an opportunity to enjoy a hockey game. Don't you think you're being a little overly sensitive?
And where is anyone ragging on a team? I don't understand your comment about the Kings.
I say if they want to play an outdoor game, great, we'll be happy to host it for you. Come on over.
