    Frederick Meyer levels Milan Lucic

I hate how players cant take a clean hit these days.... And lol @ the homer Boston announcers, biggest homers in the NHL by far.

Mindfly, you are aware nobody takes you seriously. Right?

You obviously haven't played goal before, or even listen to Mickey when he explains it. That puck was going to Ozzie's left, and he was centered to that. The puck changing direction on a 80mph shot is a bad break, not a goaltending flub.

Five bucks says Datsyuk practices deking and shooting with just his left hand and within the first week of his return he makes a defensman and/or a goalie look absolutely stupid with only one hand.

    NJ fires head coach

Lamoriello's to blame, but no one else - least of all the hockey media - will admit it. It's always "In Lou We Trust", but the man's been a disaster since the salary cap came into effect. Lou didn't make the right signings and threw all his money in the wrong direction (Rolston, Kovalchuk, etc...even Brodeur's making too much right now) and put together a roster that just doesn't work. And I don't buy it that it was the owner that wanted Kovalchuk signed - I think it was Lou's pride at stake, because that man's just as much of a narcissist as Brian Burke. Unless the Devils magically figure out how to score at least 4 goals a night (because Brodeur's GAA is just about at 3 right now and it's only that low because of a few shutouts), they're going to continue to tank, Lemaire will be fired and Lou will be behind the bench by the All Star break.

    NJ fires head coach

It's Lou that should be fired. He is the one that has hurt this team the most with his piss poor cap management. Oops got names confused.

So who remembers the 85-86 season?

Those were my heavy drug years. Didn't get clean until '87. Had I known that somewhere in NS Sid the Kid was being born, I might not have sobered up. In all honesty, that was before I had internet and cable tv. Following the team was next to impossible. I just knew from some of dad's friends who still had family in Detroit that things weren't going well, but that we had some new kid that was going to save the day. Being a Lions fan, I didn't believe it. For all of you who sat through the games, cheered on the team, and believed that someday they would rise again, I salute you. You are the backbone of the team.

    Chicago fans last night

Every team has it's share of fans that are jerks, this team is no exception, even though I root for the LSU Tigers down here to win, I consider a lot of their fan base to really be a bunch of over the top jerks. I know plenty of Saints fans down here that are over the top with things as well, but in general (at least for the Saints), I consider many people down here to be welcoming and friendly, enjoying the company of people and fans from out of town and typically nobody goes overboard to where visitors feel unwelcomed. I know all Blackhawk fans and Chicago fans aren't like this, but it's just a disgrace that Chelios was disrespected by a large majority of people last night just because he played for a rival. And this isn't the first time I've seen or heard of really bad disrespect from Chicago fans. In 2006 when the Chicago Bears went to the Super Bowl, they beat the Saints in the playoffs that year. I didn't travel up for that game, but a few friends/family did, not one story I heard from them, or from people on local talk radio down here was positive. They were not really welcomed or wanted, they were harassed, etc. And it's not like any Saints fans that I know of were looking to start trouble or stuff like that. I hate doing that - basically don't provoke me or give me reason to snap back at you in an angry or negative way when all I want to do is watch the game and mind my own business. It's unfortuantely because I really like the city, went there in April and was the first time I was there in at least 15 years and I loved it. I don't share in some of the disliking of the Blackhawks like some do in here because I'm not from the north (though I think I get it/understand it), I was happy they won the Cup last year partially for Hossa and partially because I have some family ties living up there and one of my friends down here is from Chicago, but for people here who live/have lived there or go there sometimes or whatever, do bad game experiences outweigh the good ones?

12/23 GDT: Red Wings 3 at Blues 4

For the next game we need to sit Draper and Hudler and plug in Mursak and iFlip. Sit Miller and put in Owens or Tardif. That way, everyone wins.

Actually, I made a rather valid point. Thanks for your insightful response to it.

When was the last time the Wings had a bag skate? Sometimes I think Babcock has gotten too soft and comfortable. This team is lazy and stupid right now. Things like face-offs, lack of turnovers, team defense used to be the Wings bread and butter. Something needs to change soon.

yep! that is why whenever a thread pops up asking our opionion on which Cup was the best, 1997 is ALWAYS us old-timer's answer! I actually had tears in my eyes when Stevie raised that Cup. I was at work and didn't want to leave until the final credits rolled! God Bless Hockeytown, we have certainly been blessed with this team! You kids don't know how good you've had it!

How is Hudler even allowed to open his mouth at this point in the year? He should consider it a Festivus Miracle that he's still employed.

    Call up Ilari Filppula?

All this talk about call-ups, have people forgotten we've got an extra player already called up? We rotate Eaves-Draper-Miller. Now they can all play. If someone does get called up they'll hardly ever play, if at all.

Assuming you sleep for 8 hours a day, it works out to be: 62.5 push ups/hour 62.5 sit ups/hour So every 20 minutes, throughout the whole day, you do 20 push ups and 20 sit ups? IF you do in fact do this (which I HIGHLY doubt), wow, talk about over working your abs/chest. You also claimed to do 975 push ups, and 975 sit ups during ONE hockey game. A game is roughly 2 - 2.5 hours? I'm not even gonna bother with the calculations for this one. Pls go.
