    Monster's New Goalie Mask

Was hoping for a red smoke-monster fighting a ginormous mechanical octopus piloted by a cigar-smoking, laser-eyed Larry Murphy. This offseason is an endless succession of bitter disappointments. *sigh*

    Redden?

Perhaps you mean, "If NHL 13 becomes reality" then we could have that team. Sheesh.

    What a feeling!

During the beginnings of each game last season for the most part, the Joe would play what seemed like "flashdance - what a feeling" but it seemed WAY longer than the actual song. I come to you, Letsgowings community, in search of what you think that song was. It's always played before Put your hands up for detroit, and the faceoff. I searched on redwingslive but couldn't find a good enough video to showcase it exactly, so i leave this for you to see what i'm talking about. Just the intro with the keyboard or whatever is played much longer, someone for the sake of whatever you believe in, know what i'm talking about here.

    2012 Lockout Watch

The latest proposal of the owners sounds like they gave in significantly in regards to their first proposal (from 43% to 50%). With the NHLPA set at keeping the 57% they need to drop significantly as well. The revenue regarding hockey-related and non-hockey-related income was negotiable according to both sides if I remember correctly. I just don't see how teams can get under the cap without a rollback but to send players to the AHL. However players would still be guaranteed their original salary which I think is important to the NHLPA. I guess the salary cap is negotiable when the NHLPA is willing to drop from their 57%...??? And for the record...both proposals from the NHL and NHLPA does not solve the problem regarding revenue sharing amongst teams. Just don't count on getting my sympathy vote when players reject to take a 7% drop in salary in the NHL, but still go play in Europe for a small percentage of their NHL salary.

    New Commissioner?

Easily (will contain strong words 1. Parity crap: He is using money from the leagues backbones (original 6 + some tank to win teams), in order to protect his failed and flawed ideas. Yes I am talking about the sunbelt expansion. 2. 2 lockouts in a row and he is going for the hat-trick What else needs to be said? He is the only commissioner in all of sports with such a "track-record", thats disgusting and should get him fired before the season - whenever that may be - is starting. 3. No respect for integrity of the game He will do everything to protect failed franchises but had no problem relocating the Jets, Whalers and Nordiques. There are already options outthere for the NHL to make more money by relocating some teams but no he is a stubborn idiot and prefers to keep them, letting tax payers and well run franchises - such as ours - pay for them. 4. Atrocious person Yes, I get it he is working for the owners and his job is to make them money, blablablabla but he also has to represent the NHL and he is doing an extremely poor job in doing so. There is a reason why this guy gets boo'ed everywhere, save for his cock-sucker tank to stanleycup teams. Everytime he opens his mouth you know immediately he will have to say something stupid and sound like a complete moron, who doesn't even understand one bit of hockey but yet is making more than 88 % of the players. 5. No love for the original 6 Under him the NHL will shoot for the moon to promote some of their failures but when was the last time original 6 matchups got the PR attention they deserve? I really can't remember anything despite the lazy effort such as "two original six teams are playing each other" oh well for how much money we are giving back to this joke of a league under him we should get way more out of it. 6. Changed the game for the worse Daily and him did an absolute horrible by changing the NHL into something it will and should never be, a mainstream sport instead of focusing on already existing real hockeyfans. Agitators having a freepass nowadays because they know exactly they won't have to answer for their crap. Gone are the days when guys like McCarty, Probert (RIP big man) or Koccur would beat the crap out of you if you've done something real dirty, read that carefully Shea Weber! I could go on and on but I'm not risking a ban or warning so I leave it at that, this guy is an atrocious person and an agitator himself ***** him and his suits parity crap.

    2012 Lockout Watch

Am I missing something? How do teams, who were basing their decisions on the projected $70 million cap, shed $10+ million without any salary rollback? The new NHL deal also includes redefining what constitutes hockey related revenue. So when they say the eventual split is 50/50, that's not really the case. They're taking money out of the pot while also asking the players to take less of it. And it sounds like the NHL's proposal still didn't address revenue sharing. This offer at least doesn't sound completely insane. But the league is standing firm on ignoring revenue sharing as a solution and expect the players to bear the burden of saving these struggling franchises by "partnering" with the league. The only hope is Bettman won't be commissioner then, otherwise, I wouldn't make any hockey-based plans in 2019.

The way it's sounding every team in the NHL will finish with the same 0-0-0 record. Glad we reopened projections about our team for this upcoming season, it hasn't been discussed for at least a day.

    Most overrated player.

Considering the Wings signed one of the biggest divers in the league this offseason and Kesler is still in the league, I think Brown is safely out of the top spot. Brown unfortunately is prone to Maltby like antics, embellishing crosschecks and willing to take a punch to the face to draw a penalty, but I wouldn't even put him in the top five for diving in the league. It's just annoying he does it at all because unlike the 4th liners who do it, Brown has a lot of great qualities to his game.

my prediction: Datsyuk tops 60 assits for Dynamo, Zetter scores 40+ for Timra while Filppula shows flashes of brilliance for Jokerit.

No way, it was the guy on the boxes of fishsticks And the Blackhawks should totally be on the list. They definitely have the dirtiest sweaters in the league. MY only compaint about our unis are the red sleeves on the away sweaters.

    In Two Years..

I think they'll all still be in the league, and thank heavens that now that we've lost a season to a lockout that the CBA has a one-year-extention if they can't come to terms. Now we won't have to lose a season in 2012-3. (Playin the "pretend it's still '06" game.)

    New Commissioner?

One thing I know for certain is that he's the only thing besides a flu epidemic that's ever caused the Stanley Cup not to be awarded... The fact that this many people HAVE a "predisposition against Bettman" is enough for me to say he shouldn't be commissioner. If the league is really as concerned about the fans as they like to claim then the head of the NHL should be a guy that the fans don't hate imo.
