We went through this same crap in 06/07 after we lost Shanahan/Yzerman. The team will be fine. No need to sell the team when we are a whopping three games into the season. Also, you put way too much emphasis on the draft. It's really hard to build a team throught the draft alone unless you are consistently drafting in the top 5, which means you have to suck for a long time. Worked for Pittsburgh and Edmonton. Drafting players is always a gamble. Ask Thomas McCollum, or even Angelo Esposito...

I understand why some people have a problem with the suspension, but they need to get over it and understand that you can't hit like that. It really isn't that difficult to avoid. The video even acknowledges that players will leave their feet sometimes on natural follow through, but he clearly went airborn long before contact. If the shoulder went into his chest, it would simply be a 2 minute minor for charging. Since it made contact with the head, it's a suspension. Simple as that really.

What should've Ken done in that situation? I am a big critic of Ken, but every single move he makes doesn't warrant whining. Huskins played well last night. Hell, better than that dolt Quincey, who we're paying $3 million/year.My point is, I don't see why the Huskins deal is anything to cry about. It's not like Ken was gonna get Dan Girardi here for $750,000.

I don't see why it's such a bad move. The Wings were lacking in depth on d and added a NHL defenseman... I know you want to see Almquist become the next Lidstrom but geez give him time. While you wait play some more seasons on NHL13.

We finally get a guy who fights, hits like a maniac, will protect Datsyuk and Zetterberg no matter the size of the guy going after them, can skate, pass and shoot, and now here we are. People actually complaining about this player because Babs didn't play him more? Babs has had a barely two weeks to work with Tootoo, and it's the second game of the year. Of course he'll play guys like Miller and Abby more, he trusts those guys because he knows them better. Give him time, if by game 20 your still hating on Tootoo or questioning what he brings to the team... well I'm not sure what i'll tell ya, because I'll all but guarantee he'll be a fan favorite soon enough.

this thread has officially gone off the hinges. seriously boys? we're complaining about a signing that we haven't even fkn seen. we complain all night about the quincey and smith pairing, the injuries, etc and then Holland wakes up and does something about it. He doesn't tie our hands with a huge signing, no he gets a CHEAP (750k damn near entry level contract) stay-at-home defensemen that can be an asset to them around him. Like I said earlier, Quincey and Smith are BRUTAL together. We've seen it the past 2 games, they just can't play together. Holland gets a straight up stay-at-home defensemen who could possibly be our next brad stuart. Is he going to be Brad Stuart? No. But my GOD from everything i've heard, the guy plays a VERY clean game and did some damage with Demers. Pair him with Smith, allow Smith to play his offensive game and Huskins play his defensive game. "OH MY GOD HOLLAND HOLLAND HOLLAND" REALLY?! We're supposed to be talking about KENT HUSKINS. The world needs more Bill Davidsons. Detroit can't or won't do what's needed for the Pistons so he just says "f*** it, I'll build my own arena in Auburn Hills." No taxpayers money, no bonds, just his cash. Opened in 88' and is still a great place to watch an event.
