Lets hope this one goes better than last game, It would be nice to head back to Detroit with home ice advantage.

Datsyuk is the perfect celebrated. Makes guys look stupid and never shows them up. That's why everyone, including his opponents, likes him. He smiles and does a fist pump. That's enough.

I love the showboats. Why try to take excitement out of the game? They want more goals because they want more cellies.

I don't mind a small celebration, I don't expect every guy to skate away like he doesn't care. I can handle when guys go a little bigger with their first goal, buzzer beaters, overtime goals, or highlight reel beautiful goals but I never like dropping to one knee and making a big production of it.

Please don't lose this one Wings. I really don't want to have to walk out of the Honda center hanging my head tomorrow.

I'll tell you what should happen to Perry. One of the players on Detroit should have engaged him after that incident. But our softness and crappy philosophy prevented anything from being done.

Perry is a punk and do I think if given an opportunity he would kick a goalie in the head he would do it no question. What really pisses me off the most is how nobody even got in his grill after it happened or took a poke at Hiller. This is playoff hockey and the Wings played like pansies last night. Didn't finish their checks and let Perry set up shop in front of Howard. Game 2 had better be much better.

I disagree. I'll show you why. There were two parts to your post: 1. Note the word "fact". 2. Now, I'll admit, you use the word "possible". However, you claim that: So would the following quote from you, just two or three pages back qualify as saying that it's likely? I believe that "almost certain" is actually even stronger than "likely". That's why I asked for factual evidence. Hopefully that clears up what I was trying to say. And demonstrates how you're doing exactly what you tend to blast people around here for doing.

Depends on the goal. If your linemates did all the work and you were in the right place at the right time. Then no solo celabration. If you just deked a top pair defensemen and roofed it topshelf. Rock on!

It depends on what your definition of "showboat" is as well. Do you count celebrating after OT goals? The Wings have Tatar who has showboated a bit in the past. Personally, celebrating after a goal is fine with me. The Pascal goal is fine. Same with the Yakupov (sp) goal earlier this year when he went out to center and celebrated. Then you have Theo Fleury who has scored many goals with celebration. I have no issues with it.

I don't know what game you were watching, but from the end of the 1st period on, this game was Anaheim outplaying Detroit to the point where the goal margin is not indicative of anything but Howard's brilliance in net. There is plenty of time to swing it though, but there has to be a complete attitude change from the players. They aren't the more-talented team, which means they have to outwork Anaheim on every puck battle, down low and along the boards. Given how wildly inconsistent this team has been this year, I'm sure we'll see it at some point in the next few games, but it won't last longer than a game or two, and there is no guarantee they'll win one of the games where they do show up.

Same type of loss we always have in the playoffs now. Our PK stinks it up, their goalie outplays our goalie, and our offense is totally invisible. You know you're in trouble when Abdelkader is getting all the good chances on your team. Imagine if we had a real player on that line with Pavel and Hank.

Yeah because Perry is the classiest player in the league. He would never do something like that on purpose. ....I hate soccer and will never watch it. You sure do talk tough on here telling people what they need to think and to stop crying and whining when you are doing that very thing right now.

Last time I checked, Hockey was a contact sport. People run into each other. That is still allowed right? Perry didn't do anything wrong, and those that think he did, go watch soccer. he drove the net, while hounded by Kronwall, Perry then tries to jump over Howard and his stick as Kronwall bumps him. When you are in the air and get bumped you lose your balance and yes your arms/legs will flail out to try and regain your balance. Now he touched the G which is a 2 min penalty, and that is what he got. Nothing else to talk about. Stop all the b1tching and whinning. I guarantee you that if Perry was playing for us, everyone would be upset about him getting a penalty.

I thought the contact was pretty incidental last night. I have changed my mind since I have seen how far he dragged his leg out. Why even lift your leg? Just keep skating. F*** Perry!

No matter how you put it, Perry kicked Howard in the face. Do I think he did it on purpose? No, but he didn't try to avoid it either. That could have been A LOT worse. Watch his skate drag across his shoulder and then catch him in the mask. Howard could have been severely hurt on that play. It's the same situation when they call the big goalie interference penalties/suspensions, he may not have done it on purpose and had some defense in his way, but the onus is on the player to avoid the contact. The goalie is helpless. I don't think a suspension is coming or warranted.

It didn't do anything for me and I hate Corey Perry. The radio stations are making a deal out of it here but I don't see it. Yeah he shouldn't be so reckless and it's a dangerous play, but he got his penalty. If he does it a second time then it's a different story and someone like Tootoo should be the s*** out of him.

While we are on the topic of crazy hockey, I always wondered if we only put 4 skaters on the ice all game if we could start two goalies.
