Feds to play in the alumni showdown! "@DetroitRedWings: CONFIRMED: You can see Sergei Fedorov wear the Winged Wheel one more time at the 2013 Alumni Showdown. http://t.co/33uaTMhwv5"

With the way the Wings are playing right now, the alumni showdown sounds much more appealing!

I'll be there. It's been a while. Last time I was there a little kid had a sign that read "Igor, Pasha, Pride of Russia" and Datsyuk flipped a puck over the glass to him.

    What would you do?...

I don't know what I would do, but I want to see Nyquvist, Helm, and Tatar making up our third line at some point this season.

Recall Ouellet, Sproul or Almqvist. Even Lashoff.

    What's Killing Our Offense?

Jurco seems like a guy who will make an impact at the NHL level as long as he gets top 6 minutes, or is at least on a line with Nyquist/Tatar and Helm as a 3rd line. Tatar and Nyquist could make an offensive impact, but they need to be on the team for starters and playing good minutes with good players, such as Dats, Z, Mule, Weiss, Alfredsson, Helm.....Andersson is a shutdown guy who needs to be our 4th line C fighting for a spot this summer against Glendening and Sheahan. No more signing over the hill vets to 2 year contracts when we could have the guys mentioned as well as Pulkkinen, Jarnkrok, Tvrdon and then Mantha who currently has 39 points in 15 games, with 19 goals in the QMJHL. That kid will certainly not kill our offence as long as he can take his game to the NHL level. This summer, Kenny needs to let Cleary, Tuzzi, Sammy and Quincey go.

I assume he went to the ticket desk, checked his bags and got on the plane.

2 words SALARY CAP You're comparing pre-cap teams to post-cap teams. It's not fair. It's not like there's a plethora of top 6 forwards or top 4 defencemen we can just go buy up like in the past. Hating on Sammy and Cleary is just too easy. Bertuzzi deserves to be on this team. Leave Weiss out of it.

Patty Eaves is back! I like him a lot. Can't wait to have him and Helm killing some penalties together and grinding on the fourth line. Lines tonight: Zetterberg-Datsyuk-Bertuzzi Cleary-Weiss-Alfredsson Tatar-Andersson-Abdelkader Miller-Glendening-Eaves Go Wings!

what i would really like, if once in a while the Wings end up with a rookie or a young stud who scores 40 goals. It seems like every other team has one, some have multiple.

My only gripe about the Joe is people arriving late and leaving early.

For sure keep us updated. I knew he was hurt but I didn't know what was going on. We may dislike players on different teams but they are normal people with families I hope and pray he is ok just like I hope Pronger ends up being ok.

I really don't think that's the case anymore. Rolling Bolland, Bozak and Kadri in the top 3 lines has yielded pretty good results.

    Vanek Traded To Islanders

The Mapleleafs need a number one center badly, Vanek Thomas.doesn't fill that need at all, especially not for that asking price. I also read somewhere that he doesn't want to play in Canada because of the scrutiny. Personally I think he is going to become a Wild or Penguin in the offseason. As with Moulson doubt he wants go waste his prime years with the rebuilding Sabres, they are going full Liners style with it.

The idea of signing a vet for "one last chance" at a cup is a good idea. But you can't have a whole dang team of those guys. if you are a young team like the Oilers or Aves, going out and bringing in 1 or 2 guys like a Bertuzzi and Alfie is a great idea. provides you with leadership, some scoring or grit, and someone who has been there and done that. But we are not a young talented team needing leadership. Hell if anything we have to much veteran leadership. We need the young talent. Ok we need middle age talent-hockey age not real age......

Cleary got promoted. Obviously that's been our problem. Not enough top six minutes for Cleary.

    Babcock's coaching

Flip had all the time and opportunities and resources in the world to prove he was an essential part of this team going forward. But he disappointed, season after season after season. Many - if not most - nights he was practically invisible. Potential's great, but at some point you have to deliver, and he hadn't delivered in line with what he was demanding in coin and term. "Yeah, but there was that one season!" OK, great. There was that one season - which, sort of strangely, wasn't his contract year. Which sort of makes you wonder. Maybe Flip wasn't especially happy here. As opposed to this notion that he was carrying the team on his back and would've played for free if it meant staying a Detroit Red Wing, but no, we kicked him out the door as hard as we possibly could and said NEVER COME BACK, cold as that. As for Weiss - I've said it before and I'll say it again: I've seen my fair share of Panthers hockey, and my humble assessment of Weiss - before we were even talking about him here as a possible Flip replacement - was, and remains, this: he's good. Really good. He's having a hard time adjusting to a new system and getting back into the swing of things after having missed a lot of time due to surgery. Ultimately, he's going to be good for us. I really have no good reason to believe otherwise. And, come on, Zetterberg's never had a cold streak?

I very much prefer to just watch games at home, instead of going to the games. I don't have to shell out a hundred bucks for parking, overpriced crap beer, etc. Instead I can sit at home with my friends and enjoy great food that only cost what the ingredients cost, good beer, not have to deal with assholes, actually be comfortable, etc. Oh, and to the person bitching about the people who complain about how the seats are too small, well they are. I am your average tall guy and I am not fat, but I could barely fit in the seats. They are made for shorter/skinny people. Its like the people who say the people complaining about the seats on planes are just fat whales, when in reality if you are over 6'2", there is no way you can comfortably sit in a coach seat. Thats just facts.

    Any new Helm Updates?

Potentially good news. Would be so much better if his first game is in detroit the whole crowd will go mental.
