With Cleary scratched, it's gonna be a tough GDT for Quincey!

Hey look, we've got nobody in the lineup younger than Zetterberg who has shown he's capable of putting up 40+ points consistently. No wonder wee don't have any secondary scoring. All the young guys we've developed since Franzen are either gone (Hudler and Flip) or not point producers Helm, Andersson, Abby. You can't go without developing scorers for six or seven years.

Now imagine if Datsyuk didn't sign a three year contract. This team would be in serious trouble.

Sure looks like an old mule.

    I think Kronwall's overdue for a goal

Datsyuk! There we go. The Todd had a nice chance before it as well.

Well as Mickey just said, it was a perfectly executed three on two. When a guy is driving hard to the net like that you've got to take him. If he'd have been floating a bit or hanging back then you can try and tie up two guys with positioning. But when he's coming hard like that you've got to slow him up, which Kindl did, and Wheeler made a hell of a pass to set up a hell of a shot for the third guy. But my sole point to begin with was that not every goal scored against the wings is the result of a f*ck up by one of our guys. There doesn't always need to be a scapegoat. Sometimes the opposition just executes particularly well. They are professionals after all.

Definitely read this in the voice of Schwarzenegger's Mr. Freeze. hahaha "Ice to see you!" "Everybody chill!" "I'm afraid my condition has left me cold to your pleas of mercy." "Let's kick some ice!" "If revenge is a dish best served cold, then put on your Sunday finest. It's time to feast! " "What killed the dinosaurs? The Ice Age!" "Allow me to break the ice." "Tonight, hell freezes over!" Ok I'm done. lol

Pronger may be eligible for HHOF in 2015

He is unquestionably HOF material. The 2nd best D-man of his generation after Lidstrom. Dirty, cowardly, and a spot-picking cheap-shot artist who if he wasn't a star would have racked up many many more games suspended. But nevertheless a HOFer.

It couldn't hurt for the league to adopt a Ray Emery rule, but it should be about getting suspended for skating the length of the rink to fight and continue beating on an unwilling opponent, not anything about goalies fighting specifically.

YOU CALL A PENALTY NOW?! That's bush ******* league, especially after the Datsyuk non-call

42-19 edge in shots.. I like that.

Pav! He deserved it -- all of that happened because he held the puck in at the line.

    Women's hockey brawl sets record

Speaking of the womens hockey, Amanda Kessel is crazy good at hockey and crazy cute. Lethal combination.

Seeing Phoenix ranked #4 in the NHL makes me want to punch myself in the face.

After watching Franzen's first game back against the Jets, I think it's safe to say we'll never see the old Mule again.

I thought the 2nd line was very good in that period. A lot of pressure, maybe not great scoring chances but even sustained offensive zone time isn't something we're used to seeing from any line but the 1st. Helm obviously isn't 100% there yet, looks like he gets really tired at the end of his shifts, but the actual look of the line is good. You got Helm's speed and hustle, Alfie's brains and puck possession, and Mule's... Mule-ness. Bad luck on the Jets goal, Z and D got crossed up at the blueline and Z lost his stick. Usually one of them will be back as the 3rd man defensively breaking up those kind of odd-man rushes, but give Winnipeg credit they're a fast team and transition from defense to offense really quickly. Overall a good period, but no amount of good play is gonna cut it unless we start scoring. I want a 2nd line goal, I want a 3rd line goal, I want a goal from the defense. Yeah, I want it all.

In the words of Mickey...Houdini's at it again!

That was not Kindl's man, stop with the blame game. It was a three on two, Kronwall took the puck carrier, Kindl took the forward driving the net, and the third man was uncovered. Neither of our d-men misplayed that one, it was just a well executed three on two.

This made me laugh harder than it reasonably should. Maybe because I read it in Mrs. Doubtfire's voice... LGW! My normally sophisticated palate is being compromised by the fact that the only alcohol in the house at the moment is a giant bottle of Jim Beam that someone left after our last party

He had successful surgery today to have a metal rod inserted. According to Bob Mckenzie he is not ruled out of the Olympics as 3 months is the optimistic recovery time and Olympic hockey doesn't start for over 90 days. It's all going to depend on how the recovery goes and whether Yzerman/Stamkos want to risk his health as well as Tampa's chances post-Olympics.

I'm gonna end up watching the replay of this tonight. The girl I'm seeing doesn't watch hockey. If I cant get her into the red wings, it may be over.

Absolutely HOF material. He was a bruising Dman the likes you don't see in the NHL anymore. A more recent version of Chelios, only bigger. Honestly spot-picking I don't hold against guys like Pronger (the other qualities, absolutely). As one of the top D-men he'd be an idiot to take himself off the ice for 5 minutes to fight just anyone. Most defenseman should be spot-pickers when it comes to dropping the gloves.

Hurts TB. Canada not so much imo. Canada has so much depth up front they could ice 2 teams.

    What would you do?...

I would build a sophisticated robot with the speed, strength, size, and cognitive subroutines necessary to perform superlatively on the ice. It would dominate the opposition and never tire. That's what I would do.
