    I'm really liking not having a vested interest in the game. It's nice being able to just appreciate the game and not ***** about the refs.

    You are correct, sir. Dear hockey gods: When I said I enjoyed watching a SCF game that I didn't have a vested interest in, that was not a suggestion that this happen on a regular basis. The Wings can make the finals (and win) every single year and I will be ever so much more happy. Please accept my offering of a He Who Shall Not Be Named (but you know who) sacrifice to appease you.

    Dear god I hope Alfie hangs them up. I just thought about how pissed I'd be if Holland didn't spend any of that money in the offseason and then was immediately MORE pissed when I realized they will spend it...on a 42 year old who's fading fast. Ugh.

    This was the right call by Blash. He could have tried his hand with a struggling franchise as a flavour of the month signing or he can stay and develop himself further and likely inherit a job where he is set up to succeed. I think he wanted to avoid the path Eakins is on perhaps.

    Great signing. Hell, he works so well with the kids that I would be happy just seeing him down in Grand Rapids developing the players for the NHL. Keep in mind the Griffins coaching had been so horrible at times where we had great talent but just couldn't apply that talent on the ice. Now, we are starting to see the benefits to having a coach who can work with the kids and develop them the right way. I hope they gave him a raise because he deserves it.
