    Kronwall suspended one game

I think I'm just gonna keep posting this: This is the smoking gun we've been waiting for. Unequivocal proof that the DoPS is just a bunch of chimpanzees spinning a wheel of fortune.

    Predictions: Game 7 vs. TBL

How ironic would it be if tomorrow's game goes to overtime and whoever the Defencemen that's replacing Kronwall ends up scoring the game winner?

I just Kronwalled a guy in NHL 15. I'm sure Kronwall will be suspended in the game also.

Holland acquires two, TWO, deadline signings... LGW still finds a way to hate him for it. For reals though, too bad about Cole. Franzen would be nice too, Oh and Kronwall...

Really, I have no indignation left for this League. Well, maybe League is the wrong thing to call them. Maybe this works better:

I think we live in our isolated LGW land forget that the cap world is designed to make good teams worse and bad teams better. We've been able resist this and sustain a playoff bound team. That is a huge accomplishment. I think you have to look at the rise and fall of other teams to appreciate it. I think The Devils are best comparison. They had great success in the 90s and 00s. They were in roughly the same situation with draft picks where they didn't get high draft picks due to this success. Now look at them. The mistakes they've made (Parise, Kovy, etc.) crippled that team. Holland's mistakes (Samuelsson, Hossa, Cleary, Kindl) have been made while still allowing us to have a level of success. Every GM makes mistakes. As for this current series, we've got one game to win it. We've played pretty well on the whole. I think it's important have a reality check for our situation. We had Howard, our starting goalie, lose his s*** half way through the season. 2 major sources for scoring are gone (Franzen, Cole - though Cole was kind of a Mule replacement). We have a huge contract that was supposed to be a significant part of the team sitting in the stands (Weiss). And yet we're in a position to win this series. That's a testament to organizational depth. I think few teams could take those hits and still be the place we are. For Tampa, that would be the equivalent to taking Filppula, Bishop, and Callahan(for Franzen - maybe Killhorn instead) out of their lineup. I also think people need to remember that we are currently a rebuilding team. We weren't expected go the distance this year. This team has had flashes of greatness and definitely shows that we are a team going in the right direction. We have a great stoke pile of prospects could very well be the missing pieces. If you want to blame Holland for his mistakes, you also have to praise him for that. Now, finally, I have to say, WHY ARE WE DOING THIS NOW?!! We have a game 7 tomorrow! The Lightning look very beatable to me. I'm predicting a win. Let wait to assess this season until it's over.

I want to see another one of these game sevens.... Or at least see whoever is in for Kronner get the game winner. LGW! Petr stands tall and the wings move on.

This is a joke! I am all for player safety and enforcement of suspensions on head shots, but not when its implemented selectively. This one makes me really mad because I think it is going to end our season. I just hope that our other D step up and play the game of their career!

Agreed. It's great that the DoPS is trying to get head shots out of the game. But...if Palat-on-Glendening doesn't warrant a suspension, and Garrison-on-Abdelkader doesn't warrant a suspension, and Wilson-on-Visnovsky doesn't warrant a suspension, and Byfuglien-on-Perry doesn't warrant a suspension, and Kronwall-on-Kucherov does warrant a suspension...has the DoPS really done its job this month? With this decision to suspend Kronwall, have they really helped to make the game any cleaner? Have they really educated anyone? Have any standards or guidelines been made any clearer? Does this set a clear and logical precedent (and was there a precedent for the precedent)?

Punches to the head, elbows to the head, crosschecking a guy in the neck, all ok. A hit that even the other team said was a good hockey hit and not dirty, suspension. Something is wrong here.

I hope that this gets the team so pissed that they'll play out of their mind and demolish TB ... channel the anger and Wings will win.

Tomorrow you'll get an error message saying "due to a reckless hit you're NHL 15 live account has been suspended for the foreseeable future by the order of the NHL Death Squad"

If Cole and Franzen were playing we would've won this series already. Can't really fault Holland for anything this year.

Your thread is called "At What Point Does Holland Deserve Blame?", this title alone insinuates that you believe he either deserves blame now, or soon. Your statements in bold just confirm this, which is fine as you are entitled to your opinion, but you cant be upset that people are defending Holland when this thread was made as a criticism towards him. I'm also surprised that you dont think Holland gets any blame. In the summer there was literally a thread about why he should be fired. Of course Holland has made mistakes, no GM is perfect. I don't even think Holland himself would say he makes no mistakes, but the reason why some people are so firmly behind him IMO is because he makes many more good decisions then bad decisions. Lidstrom was the greatest defenseman of the modern era, you cant just replace him. Teams aren't trading away norris caliber d-men, the only real option of a "replacement" in free agency was Suter. Holland did make him one hell of an offer (one that would probably have bit him in the ass down the road) but Suter decided to play on a team with his friend that was close to home. You cant put this on Holland. As far as Weber goes, sure I would love to have him on this team, but that was never going to happen. And for the record, reports show that Holland did try to go after Weber. http://www.mlive.com/redwings/index.ssf/2012/07/red_wings_pursued_defenseman_s.html

One of the worst things to come out of this, is that you will probably never see Kronwall make his signature hits again. If the NHL is willing to suspend him, when he has never been suspended before, then he will have no incentive to make that kind of hit again. Any hit from here on out will have this suspension looming over it. RIP "You Got Kronwall'd". You had a pretty good run.

Could have something to do with all those Kronwallings that went unpunished. The NHL has always found loopholes to keep important players playing in important games so of course they would make an exception for the Red Wings. Kronner must be devastated. Reminds me of 07 when Pronger got a game suspension in a pivotal game against us in the WCF and the Ducks rallied without him and won. Well, I hope anyways

Had a feeling he'd get suspended, not because it was deserving of a suspension, but because NHL. Such a joke, hope we can rally around this BS and win tomorrow.

Further proof that officiating in the NHL has gone down the toilet. Borderline questionable hit. No previous record. No injury. Refusal to complain by the opposition. Compare to multiple attempts to injure elsewhere in the playoffs.....
