TB got shut down by the Wings and really should have lost the series if the Wings didn't screw up game 4 with 8 minutes left. They've done it to Crosby and Malkin, they've done it to Getzlaf, Perry and Ryan, they've done it to Toews and Kane. What players are the common theme here...

Yeah, guys that were pretty much only fighters just didn't have a spot left roster and cap wise. Guys like McCarty who would fight, but also contributed offensively just seem so few and far between now days. I know I don't watch alot of other teams but I can't really think of anybody.

1. NHL Front Office is run by guys that know nothing about hockey and therefore shouldn't have the job. 2. Hockey is on the verge of becoming as sissylike as soccer: fights are down, hits are down and players don'tr even know which hit is a suspension and which isn't because there is no consistency in their decision and most seem to be based on throwing a darts at the wall. 3. There are too many regulations and rules in place to make life difficult for owners and GMs . Back in the late 90s and early 2000's this game was way better and much more entertaining, period. I mean when the best GMs in the game are struggling due too many rules and regulations something needs to chane, period. Add to that the almost 0 entertainment and excitment for free agency and there are even less things to look forward to. I fully agree I hope oneday is someone comes out and call out the NHL for all the crap that's going on, would love someone like Super Mario or Wayne doing that.

The series goes to 7 games. The first 6 are 1-0. All goals are scored when the puck bounces off someone standing in front of the net pointing a finger at an opposing player and whining about something. By game 7, they have all learned to stand and cry without pointing. In the intermission before the 7th overtime of a 0-0 game, Steve Yzerman visits the locker room and asks to speak to Filppula. He has brought with him a medium who looks deeply into Flip's dreamy... blue... ey........... Oh, sorry. But. Those eyes... She asks him to recall a previous life. She sees the colour red. He blinks. He stares at Yzerman. He sees the Cup Rings on Yzerman's hand. Where has he seen that before? Then it comes to him! The heart of a Bolt remembers! It is transformed into the heart of a Wing! And what happened next? Well, in Whoville, they say, that Filppula's balls grew three sizes that day! He skates onto the ice, wins the face-off, takes the puck himself, skates between the Canadiens players who are crying about an unfair puck drop. He scores, winning the series for the Lightning. A breathless Cooper asks him, "How did you do it?" Filppula proudly replies, "I'm a Red Wing! I cheated." Then they go on to get blown away in the next series and we all live happily ever after. Dekeseyer needs to work on his point shot. There's no reason why he can't put pucks on net with his frame and hockey IQ. Not having anybody on the blueline that can get pucks on goal is a massive team weakness
