For me it's basically a decades old hate for the Blackhawks. It's in my DNA at this point. And for a slightly more rational reason, the more Cups the Blackhawks win the more they move towards dynasty status and overshadow what the Wings had accomplished.

The NHL is a Ducks/Lighting win away from ratings hell.

We might as well not even watch next season.

I thought it said couch. I was like Damn! Now that's a lady with pure hatred in her heart, even hates their inanimate objects.

For his sake I hope he retires. Concussions are dangerous when you've had as many as he has and another one could quite possibly cost him his life. No game is worth that.

A couple more reasons not to want the Blackhawks to win: 1) Because of the joy it would bring Eddie "subtle interference" Olczyk. I always picture him sitting in the booth wearing his Hawks jersey. 2) Not wanting to see Duncan "I'll carve you up" Keith lift the Cup again. One of the dirtier star players in the league. And don't get me wrong, I'd want the Ducks to lose in the finals.

I realize that there's all sorts of residual hate from the rivalry (or what was left of it), but I really don't understand hating the Blackhawks and wanting teams in our conference (and particularly our division) to win. Firstly, because f*** anybody else in our division. But secondly, because the Hawks play (and win) EXACTLY like we used to. They're the Red Wings. If anybody should be able to appreciate just how good they are at what they do, it's us. If you'd just thrown Red Wings sweaters on the Hawks last night, it could have easily been confused for the 2009 conference semis. Maybe that's the reason why, now that I think about it.

I like to remember the guy who destroyed the Avs in the 2008 playoffs. I wish him all the best.

5 more years. He's signed thru 2020. Though he's a great part of this team when healthy, I agree that he should hang up the skates for the sake of his long term health and his children.

If he was still playing disconnected controller defense all the time, I wouldn't want him anywhere near our young and impressionables.

Just keep Bylsma away.

I think everyone underestimates what Miller does for this team. If he was expendable we would have traded him over Eaves (eaves being RH). I love me some Miller time.

I don't think it's fair to make any conclusions about the NHL career of a 20 year old who is still playing in his first year in the minors, especially after missing the first couple months with a broken leg.
