I'm mostly "done" in regards to Red Wings personnel movement. As one last move, trade Cleary, Mantha & Brendan Smith for Dustin Byfuglien and a 3rd round pick. Put Byfuglien with Green, Lift up DeKeyser to the first pairing with Kronwall. Put Ericsson and Quincey on 3rd "Murder pairing". Wave to me in the conference finals.

Unless injuries occur I really don't see How Callahan could make the team

If anyone is in trouble it's Andersson. Coaches tend to stick with guys they know

Definitely agree with this. While it looks like Holland will have to make a move in Detroit (possibly Quincey or Kindl, allowing one of the ``kids`` to make the team, right now the defense down in GR looks something like: Ouellet-Marchenko Lashoff-Jensen Paetsch-Sproul That`s a pretty solid group right there.

Of all the vets on the team, I believe that Paetsch is just as, or more important than any of them, including captain Hoggan and top point producer Miele. As long as the whole gambling thing doesn't effect him playing next season, and it isn't a distraction for him or the team, he will be a very important part of the team once again. We have lots of veteran leadership up front, we definitely need some on the back end, Paetsch is a perfect fit. I hope he is paired back with Sproul again and he can really get him going this season. I still have high hopes for Sproul, but he hasn't quite figured out how to defend at the pro level yet. I'm hoping Paetsch can really help him in that regard.

There's a lot of hype around Klingberg. He is supposed to come into his own next season. They've got a pretty young, inexperienced blueline at the moment. I think they'd benefit greatly from a guy like Oduya, though I'm not sure if they have the cap space. They've got Stanley Cup-caliber offense. I'm sure Nill recogizes that something else needs to be done for the defense before the season starts.

McGrattan was in all 6 Star Wars movies. He was THE FORCE.

Except possibly the Wings. On the top pair against top lines Green may wreak havoc but possibly not the kind you're looking for. Green played 19 minutes a game for the Caps (good for 5th in TOI/game) and 2:45 of that was on the PP. He also started in the offensive zone 60% of the time. If he were on the top pair I'm guessing we'd all be pining for the good ol days when Ericsson was there. Anything could happen and I'm guessing he will be asked to do more on the Wings, but I don't see him on the top pair. Like Helmethead posted, middle pair seems likely, with a ton of PP minutes.

McGrattan can kill rock and roll and touch MC Hammer. He could also buy love, but he doesn't have to.

Pulkkinen. Is. Not. Slow... He's not lightning fast by any means, but he has no trouble keeping pace at the NHL level.
