The way I see it mrazek has won several games for us this season by standing on his head, when the rest of the team was snoozing at times. Tonight mrazek wasn't at his best but the guys all stepped up and won this game for mrazek. King Henrik , price, rinne and quick have all had games like this. When it came down to it in the 3rd petr made a few timely key saves to keep us in the lead. The game wasn't pretty but the team came together. Like others have said petr always responds with a lights out game after a rough outing so I would actually like to see petr play again tomorrow. I think he will see lots of rubber tomorrow being back to back and he will be up to the task.

Just wanna top off the night by saying that this game was more than two points. 3-4 something in my opinion as we won over a direct division rival, ie we got two they lost two. I'd like to hear whatup with Mrazek tonight, I for one do think he was slightly hungover. Doesn't take much, even a small one can hamper the hand-eye coordination, especially at the NHL level.

I'm taking the afternoon off work for this one...

C'mon guys! It's "Hockey Day in America" Get with the program. Islanders will be looking for a win to get out of that Wild Card spot. We need a win to keep pace with or gain points on FLA - who also play today - as well as extend our points lead on BOS and TBL. More than anything else, I want a solid game from Jimmy Howard and the team to play a tight, crisp game in front of him. In Canada its Family day which is a stat holiday, so up here we can all watch as well.

that's not what I call it. I have to work, as do most people. A noon game on a "holiday" which only federal and some state employees get? Seriously? The "Team in red" as NBC calls them (aka the Red Wings) will have their work cut out for them. For those of you who are retired or otherwise exempt from working for a paycheck.... enjoy.

Potential. If another teams feels he is better then someone on their active roster, why wouldn't they claim him? You gain an asset for nothing. Andrej Nestrasil was claimed with only 13 games experience. Just because you are not good enough to make the Wings roster, doesn't mean you are not good enough to make the Oilers roster, or Jets roster, or Blue Jackets roster etc. I know some like to create the narrative that we are awful, but as it stands we are 8/30 in the NHL. This team can be harder to make then others. Please don't confuse this as me saying "teams will be lining up to get him", as that is not what I am saying. What I am saying is that I could see ONE team taking a shot at him if he goes on waivers.

Okay, maybe the boys are sad they aren't getting any Valentine's Day love. (Hey, I'll do ANYTHING.)

And yet Jensen played in more preseason games (6) than anyone else, scored 4 points and was a +8. Personally, I don't think he's been given a fair shake with the team, but it is what it is. I'm sure the Wings' brass have their reasons for not bringing him up over Ouellet, but I don't think it's because he hasn't made good on his limited number of opportunities. At this point, it seems to me that Ouellet and Marchenko has the inside track on the (presumed) two spots on next year's roster. IMO, Sproul will pass through waivers, but I think someone could take a chance on Jensen, should the Wings elect to waive him, too.

1pm start time on a Monday? I get that it's presidents day and all, but wow. Will have to miss this one unfortunately, must work.

The ones they wore the other day did look really sharp, I agree on wearing them more often at least. And the "V" sweaters are among my all time favorites, zero fluff!

I've always been impressed with XO's passing ability. He had one really nice play where he faked a shot only to pass the puck over to Helm for a goal. On the bad side, he had a bad clear which I think led to the Trotman goal, but that happens. Overall I was happy with him. I like him and Marchenko as a third pairing.

I am pretty convinced that Petr is Dom Jr. If he's watched the master in goal, he will bounce back from this and be a holy terror the next few outings. Learn and change and get better... he will.

Exactly I would rather Jensen finally getting his chance. I doubt other of them will ever be a top 4 forward Jensen seems to have the most tools of this trio. Or maybe (which I'm hoping for), the Wings are starting to showcase some younger players to the other teams.
