3 pointsDickie's response, we all have it memorized: "It's the length of term that's the issue, he didn't earn it" And the godam circle is complete for the 10th time this month. There I just saved everyone another pointless repeated convo. Can we talk about something else now.

That's not really true. Further development as players and further adjustment to the NHL game could make for a more seamless transition in the future. -

DTD with back spasms. And I agree, Sproul needs to be in and stay in the rest of the season. Appeared like he was attempting to set a pick, which is interference. Kinda weak but I get why they called it. -
1 pointI have nothing against Glendening up there as long as he keeps coming out of the corner with pucks. On the whole that has been a consistent weakness thus far this season. also kickass maybe youll get a few chf exacerbations with the cold weather. Or better yet maybe you can find an intern to tell you to go home early lol
-
1 pointGame's on in the on call room. Woohoo Glendening is better on the 2nd line than Sheahan on the 1st line. And I mean it.

1 pointYeah roads are still very covered. Wings look good though. The breakout transition has been impressive so far

1 pointIts actually pretty bad here. I don't blame folks for staying home through this snow.

1 pointWe don't really know what truly is better. We're not really experts. Maybe to them the better strategy is to ease the two into the center position rather than a "deer in headlights" type of situation. Neither Datsyuk nor Zetterberg played as top 6 centers for at least 2 - 3 years into their career. So how exactly is this situation any more or less different? They're following almost the same exact plan as they did in the 2002-2005 transition with D and Z. If anything Larkin and AA have gotten more opportunities than D and Z did because they've actually gotten top 6 minutes unlike the euro twins. The only difference is Zettterberg started killing penalties his rookie year so took a good amount of faceoffs during the PK in his initial years. In his rookie year Zetterberg took 401 faceoffs. If AA had played a full season last year his faceoffs would be projected to be around 285 faceoffs. One one hand, Z's ice time was around 15 minutes a night while AA's was 9 minutes a night. I believe mathematically speaking their total faceoff projection is the same in their rookie years (had AA actually played the full season and had he had the same amount of minutes as Z in his rookie year).

Jimmy playing tonight makes me feel a little more confident, i'm not sure where Mrazek's head was last game but it definitely wasn't in the hockey game. Let him sit one out and get himself back together. Still would like to see Sproul in for Lashoff, not sure where the logic is in sitting him. I still want AA on that 2nd line over Glendening who has done nothing since playing up there, he needs to be down with Ott and Jurco. Let's pull off a W here, LGW! -

Let's GO Wings, we need these points badly. Looking at the roster, how Marchenko and Lashoff are in over of Sproul is beyond me. -
1 pointHelm's a solid 3rd-liner, and even Glendening wouldn't be awful. While Glendening should be on the 4th line when we're healthy, we haven't been healthy. With Helm, Abby, and AA out, having Glen in a top 6/9 complimentary role is fine. Especially with how bad Sheahan has been. Now that AA is back, maybe he should be moved back. Looks like maybe we're trying to get all 4 lines to have some scoring threat. Worth a try (and something many have advocated), and it's not like anything else we've tried has been hugely successful. Jurco and Sheahan aren't exactly great scorers, or even much better than Glendening (and Jurco is arguably worse).

1 pointEdit: Buppy is correct. I never said I was using win% vs point %. You assumed that (incorrectly), then proceeded to get worked up about it. Who has the crack pipe again? But regardless. This team is severely underperforming for how they're built, and as I've demonstrated the numbers back that up.

It's way more ridiculous than using Helm up there. At least Helm can score occasionally. Glendenning is literally an offensive anchor, and his defensive play isn't so amazing that it somehow makes up for it. -
1 pointCould have been a number of things, none drug-related. He might have had an athletes-heart issue, it takes a lot of young kids unexpectedly. Whatever the issue, it's just tragic, and I weep everytime I think of the Daniels family's pain right now. The Wings are a family, too.. they will have all the support and love they can handle in this awful time. RIP.

If having an enforcer in the lineup doesn't prevent the initial hit from happening then whats the point? Having someone in the lineup just to fight after an incident is worthless if they dont stop the first incident from happening. Players that only can fight have no place in the todays NHL. Thats been proven by most in the NHL, who know more about the game than us, phasing them out. Players nowadays are more afraid of not hitting someone and drawing the coaches ire than they are any retaliation from the opposing team. Better to have that spot taken by someone who can actually play hockey and help the team win in. -

I do. I'm actually hoping they reunite when Helm is healthy. At least to see if they still have it. But something tells me Blashill won't do it. -

I will own that Lefty, I even gave you props in another thread. I was 100% wrong about Vanek and I will give you credit that you were right. You have to admit thought its kind of funny that the players he has the best chemistry with are your favs Nyquist and Helm . -
1 pointI can remember that like it was yesterday. I was 12 at the time and I can remember just sitting on my couch so angry afterwards as I didnt understand how we could lose to a #8 seed. Coming off the Nikolai Borchevsky goal the year before, that was a tough one.

1 pointYeah, I mean not necessarily heroin or cocaine but sometimes could even be a prescription drug taken for an illness and accidental overdose. That's why I hate taking meds for anything.
