It's not even that I like Frk so much as I like skill players playing in positions that require skill. I think a 3rd line with Frk and Svech on the wings scores more than a 3rd line with Abby and Sheahan/Helm on the wings. And I think a 4th line with Nosek, Abby, and Helm/Sheahan scores more than a 4th line with Glendening, Miller and Ott (or whomever). For me it's about relative gains. I just happen to be talking about Frk and Svech because they're the two most skilled guys we have who aren't playing in Detroit yet.

I wouldn't worry about his lack of pull ups. At this point in his career its all about skating and that ain't using his arms as much as his lower body. As he matures he will fill out and the weight room will be his second home! When i enlisted into the Army as a young 17 yr old i only managed 3 pull ups and the target was 5. I recall the PTI telling dont worry kid, we'll sort that out, and true to his word at the end of my training the gym test came and i hit the bar and knocked out 33, so im sure wherever he ends up they will get him beefed up.

Tats is Slovak and Nosek was FA pick up but I get what you mean . I think a lot of trust is put into what Fischer sees in some of these guys, Nosek and Hronek were both highly touted by Jiri .

    2017 Draft

That's how to impress the ladies bro, finesse with the leg kick. Well, hockey players are generally not that strong when starting off compared to other sports (Football, Basketball for instance) but that is pretty sad. On the other hand the article says McDavid did only 6 pull ups and he's supposed to be better than Crosby so.. 1 vs 6.. Ehh sounds weak either way for both.

    Targets for the Wings

Vatanen would be interesting. Coming off a down year, plus being injured, maybe he could be had relatively cheap. Doesn't solve our defense problems of course, but could be part of the solution at least. Dumba/Brodin and Hamonic I'd put in with Trouba and Fowler. It'd be great but I don't want to give up a 1st or our top prospects unless it's for a true star. Barrie is on the same level (probably better than all of them in fact), but I don't think the Avs will move him, despite the persistent rumors. Nathan Beaulieu could be interesting. Younger guy with decent production and further potential. Probably come cheap if Habs are really trying to move him. Not really interested in any of the forwards, since the good ones would likely cost more than they'd be worth. Really doubt Jackets trade Jenner.

    Targets for the Wings

Vatanen, Duchene, Barrie, Jenner, Sustr, Drouin, MacKinnon. No way we can get any of them but that would be real nice. That Jarnkrok kid out of Nashville looks good.

I saw a different take on this suggesting Crosby said something worse but saying something joking around like that was PK's way of leaving it on the ice. Obviously that's just wild speculation but I guess it doesn't make any less sense than anything else? That or maybe PK is trying to create a distraction for Crosby/the pens? I don't know.. kind of a weird situation all around.

    2017 Draft

Huh? He was born on Jan. 15th I think, which would be the exact opposite of what you are saying....he'd consistently be one of the oldest players in the league if it works anything like here (you play with people of your birth year...calendar year). For NHL drafting purposes, he'd still be on the older side, only players born in late Sep through Dec would be older. The truth is actually the opposite of this as well. Mantha was literally the oldest player taken in the entire draft. Well, they may not be true as I didn't check everyone, but the only ones that would potentially be older would be those that were passed over in their eligible years, so are being drafted at older ages. Mantha was 2.5 months away from turning 19 when he was drafted (he wasn't 17 years old). He was a full year older (minus a few days) than several players picked).

Tippett would be great.. I just don't see him falling to 9. And I definitely don't see us trading up for him. Necas I'm not sure of but I do want a top center prospect and I'd trust their judgement if they took him.

    Vegas Golden Knights

I agree, but we all know it's not going to happen... Honestly, I'd be shocked if Holland sheds any contracts other than the one that Vegas takes, which will in all likelihood be one of the smaller contracts that we don't want to lose...

Except Holland would rather hold onto Green so they might barely make the playoffs. Sent from my LGLS676 using Tapatalk

Good to see Chris has no idea what's going on. In what sense is Ken Holland an excellent gm? He hasn't made any remarkable moves, he's sticking with a coach who can't seem to figure it out (while there are some very good coaches up for grabs out there right now). We haven't even efficiently declined into mediocrity, assets have been wasted on numerous occasions. Disheartening to hear that Chris is content maintaining the status quo, being below average.

Maybe after back to back bottom 10 finishes management will get that Holland isn't the answer anymore. The Kings miss the playoffs after two cups in 5 years and clean out Lombardi and Sutter, we make the playoffs on the last day of the season for three years in a row then bottom out and no changes are planned. Funny how things work.
