I usually think NBC broadcasts are a jinx and make us lose. We can to that all by ourselves, thanks, Pee-air. However, I believe the Wings will win this one.... 'cause, I just do. LGRW!!!

This is just wrong. Plenty of elite goal scorers go on droughts. The difference is they usually have other elite talent around them to make up for it and distract from their slump. Also, most elite goal scorers are playing with other elite player which increases their probability of scoring. That's not "an excuse" just fact. Our guys should be playing better, no question. But to ignore the fact that we are a team filled with 2nd/3rd pairing D-men and top 6/9 forwards is ignoring reality. We need elite players. Do yourself favor, when Blashill comes on...press mute lol.

I would post my "Amen Brother" meme, but that worked out so well last time...Anyway, I totally agree. All of the defensemen on this roster are NHL caliber for sure. But, when you have 3 2nd pairing dmen and 3 bottom pairing dmen (I can't decide what Kronwall is) going up against other teams top lines, they're going to look outclassed.

    Rumors Thread

I thought we were discussing Karlsson vs OEL, not sure what Burns and Josi have to do with anything. I'm guessing your issue with Karlsson is that he doesnt hit enough since you keeping talking about it. When you score like him, you can get away with it. I'm not over-hyping anything, I'm just not going to validate your delusions. In the past 6 seasons, he has won 2 Norris Trophy's, and been a finalist 4 times (and lets not forget he missed half of 2012/13 with an injury) In points he has ranked: 2017 - 3rd (5 points less then Burns) 2016 - 1st 2015 - 1st 2014 - 1st 2013 - missed half of the season with an injury 2012 - 1st If you want to bring up Burns, I don't buy Burns is better offensively. He had more points 1 time (not counting year he was hurt).

To be fair, the weather right now is absolutely awful. Not saying that if it was good weather the arena would be full, but a struggling team + blizzard = empty.

Let's be clear--PETA is not an animal rights group, they are an "outrage" factory. When they lower the kill ratio in their shelters and stop kidnapping people's pets, then they can talk to me about animal welfare. In the meantime, they can just focus on throwing paint on fur coats and protesting irrelevant hockey traditions, and I'll go back to f*****g ignoring them.

Here is my idea then: throw PETA members on the ice Best response would be to throw even more on the ice and make a big deal out of it.

The arena looks completely empty. Looks horrible watching on national TV.

It's sad. Sometimes we as fans tend to believe that these guys live wonderful lives, getting paid millions of dollars to play a sport they love at a level the rest of us can only dream of. What we so often overlook is the sometimes brutal honesty of life for some NHL players. So frequently forgotten is the physical, mental and emotional sacrifice that these guys make on behalf of their teams and us, the fans, in a sometimes gladiatorial occupation. Johnson's is only one such story, among many others, that remind us that playing this sport, in this league, isn't always a dream come true. No matter how famous, how wealthy, how idolized they become, these guys still suffer from the same life problems, the same traps, vices, and anxieties as the rest of us. And no matter how successful they might become on a 200' x 85' sheet of ice, they still deserve the same dignity, respect and sympathy as the rest of us. Just something to remember (myself included) when we are so often quick to ridicule them for their mistakes and meet their struggles with hostility or indifference.
