Jonas was around the Dead Wings era. It’s surprising but he is a 42 year old man child

Here’s a fun one maybe stop taking cheap shots then?? http://nhl.nbcsports.com/2018/02/05/brad-marchand-is-tired-of-being-labelled-a-goon/ Marchand just wants to do goon things but not be called a goon.... Led to a lot of good reddit comments such as “I’ve tried nothing and am all out of ideas!” “Immediately slewfoots reporter” ”it must really suck being labeled what you are.”

I don't think that we will have a Dahlin pick this year but if we can get top 4 pick I would like to see KH do something like: Green (50% retain) for Foote Nyquist + 3rd for Fabbro Howard for Halak and 4th We draft Tkachuk We end up with solid D prospects in Foote, Fabbro, Cholo Nice C prospects in Tkachuk and Rasmussen and we start from there.

Good catch! As is stands right now, we'd have the 34th (from OTT/NYR) and 37th pick in the 2nd! If we get a 27-31 pick for Green and then add our own 1-5? Wow! That is great! Let's just say: (#1 if I'm being selfish! )but how about: #3 #29 #34 #37 plus if we could score a 2nd for Nyquist? Nice!

Maybe if this was earlier on. But in todays league the more you get suspended the heftier the sentence gets. Look at what happened to Raffi Torres. This is Marchands 6th suspension. Couple more and he may be done permanently. Need smarter goons. Even Lucic plays it smart.

    Gets suspended too much.

Marchand vs Witkowski? Oh wait Marchand still suspended cause he’s dumb

Ouhh that is good news! Keep sucking, sens 4 picks in the top 40-45 would be pretty great. And Dahlin, Foote, and Tavares wouldn’t jumpstart the rebuild; along with our young talent on offense, they’d complete it

I'd be ecstatic if we were able to pull off anything close to a Foote or Fabbro. Unfortunately, I just don't see it happening. Even if everything lines up for us, and Green goes to Tampa and Nyquist / Tatar goes to Nashville, I think the return will be picks or mid level prospects...

    Where does Bertuzzi fit?

I say N2O. At least laughing gas can be used for fun stuff. Down with the nitric oxide stuff.

Maybe it's just wishful thinking, but I do feel like things seem to be lining up in our favor. Yzerman wants a Mike Green type defenseman and, given where the Bolts are with their Cup window, their picks and prospects are relatively expendable to them. Poile wants a scoring winger and Nyquist and Tatar roughly fit the mold of top-six wingers that Poile seems to favor these days. If I have my facts straight, Bob McKenzie has said the Bolts and the Preds are the two teams that are really looking to go all in for a Cup run this season and that they're well-positioned to do so with the picks and prospects they have at their disposal. And he's also said he believes Poile is looking at Nyquist and Tatar, possibly as a fallback if he ultimately decides against acquiring one of the bigger names, e.g. Pacioretty, Hoffman. (Cautious) HYPE!

Man, if we could somehow get a Foote or Fabbro type prospect, I wouldn't even care for the extra pick.

Yeah, if we're being honest, the 1st round is sort of a crapshoot. First 3-5 picks are pretty safe, but mostly it's voodoo. Which is to say, the NHL entry draft is, on the whole, almost more of an art than a solid science. If we're getting an additional 1st, it's going to be in the 15-31 range, probably more like 27-31. (A 1st from a bubble team would be lottery protected, so that's not really worth considering.) When you're in that territory, the tail end of the 1st round, you have to ask yourself if, say, two 2nds wouldn't be a better return than just a lone 1st. Or maybe a 2nd/3rd/4th and a really good prospect like Callan Foote or Dante Fabbro. Point being, 1sts aren't everything. Look at how many of today's high-end NHLers were taken outside of the 1st round. It's quite a list.

Your second paragraph makes your supporting argument in the first one meaningless then. Why would you do that to yourself???

Fixed it. A lot of late first round draft picks don't even make the NHL.

Fixed it Seriously, look at the draft history of first round picks. Outside of the top 5-10 picks, there are a lot of guys who end up more like Smith or Sheahan than Weber or Kane

well so far he's having a good first full season in GR and today's game saw him finish with 2a and a +5 rating. He is GRs leading D as a rookie in points and team leading in + - . He has 5+18 in 40 games and a +19.

Totems or anything related to indigenous people would be cultural appropriation, it'd never fly nopw. Hell, millennials think that "Friends" is "problematic." Seattle Sasquatch would be interesting. They could get Jack Links to be a major sponsor.

Those are beauties. The only problem I see is that the first one has a totem on it which is a sacred object among native tribes of the NW. Seattle is the snowflake capitol of the world, so I am sure it will be seen as offensive: Not by American Indians, but by the Social Justice Warriors who love to be offended for everyone else.
