Lefty could be the equipment manager. Just make sure his office is far from the dumpster.

I will be rooting for Mrazek. Need that conditional pick. Go Mrazek go! Tear it up son.

Intelligent response. You’ve been on a roll insulting people and breaking rules. Keep it up and you might end up on the Philly forums with Mrazek.

Yeah, pretty much how I feel. I think we should have kept him for the remainder of this season, but I don't think Holland had any intention in qualifying him regardless how he performed down the stretch. I don't like the decision to move on from him, but I guess if we were anyway, at least we got something for him... Whatever. Hopefully he tears it up in Philly and they make it past a couple teams in the playoffs. The chance of a 4th turning into anything is slim, so getting a 2nd would make this a little more stomachable for me...

Darren Helm isn't a bad player. Darren Helm isn't worth his contract. One or two guys making $500k too much isn't a killer. 10-12 guys making $500k too much is. So if you can move any of those guys, you do it. I hope the Bruins take Helm and Babs gets his man crush back and the Leafs take Glendogmillionaire. Replace both with guys making reasonable salaries, and you're in better shape.

Vegas could have got him for free and passed and Philly didnt want him a week ago. It took a playoff team losing both goalies for Mrazek to have any type of trade value. He was never going to stay in Detroit so might as well get something for him while you can.

Green, Nyquist, Helm, Glendening, still to go. Do itttttt

What's in a name? ...and in other news: LET'S GO PHILLY! also... JIMMY HOW-ARD!

Well, this did seem likely to happen. Would have preferred to keep him and see if he continued his resurgence, but I do think it was unlikely that we were going to qualify him, so if that was the decision then I do think they took advantage of probably the only opportunity get a return for him. The goalie market and Mrazek's value did seem to be weak and it took the duo injuries to even get that much. A 4th ain't much, but I think that'll be a 3rd since I think he'll win 5 games and they'll make the playoffs. But they'll probably play the Pens in the 1st round so I don't think it'll turn into a 2nd. And, I doubt they re-sign him with their duo so I'm betting it's just a 3rd, which is an okayish return. So, who do we call up? Coreau? - that would help our draft odds, haha (edit: apparently he was just named the AHL player of the week, though)

Taboo points to talk about: I actually think Holland has been exceptionally good at selling for a man who's never had to. In my work experience buying takes a whole different attitude than selling. Ive been pretty impressed by Holland's ability and activeness on the market, for who a guy who's almost always been in the other camp. I still question his buying ability thou

If Mrazek hadn't spent most of the last two years looking like an AHL goalie he wouldn't have had to worry about it. I'm guessing this means they had no intention of qualifying him this summer, so they got at least a 4th for a guy they were going to lose for nothing later, and potentially quite a bit more. 4th (or more) > nothing, especially when there isn't much of a market for goalies. Holland did a good job.

I like it actually, getting something besides him just walking.

There is no such rumor. He met with Toronto and Sabres and declined any further meetings and immediately signed with Tampa. He got cold feet basically and realized the grass is not greener.

As much as you guys insult me and break all the rules, none of you have any room to pull out the rule book on someone. Biggest rule break is getting banned and coming back under a different name. Everyone knows who used to be who, so those folks should just keep quiet about forum rules. This trade just goes to show, ALWAYS trust TSN insiders like Dreger and Mac. I love it! This alone makes it ok to cheer for Philly to win it all! #LetsGoFlyers!

What are you even talking about? He was never exposed to waivers. This has to be a troll or a kid.

Holland chose to keep the Murican Goalie over the foreigner.

He basically freaked out about it after talking with Toronto and decided not to hit free agency and stayed with Tampa. All it takes is one team to freak you the hell out and make you feel like you're responsible to bring a dead franchise back to life. Screw that, if I was him, I'd stay in Tampa where I know they already have a good team and there's less pressure. Plus all the beaches.

I think it's the closest place to home besides the Maple Leafs. The Leafs can't afford him (they have no cap space). You're underestimating how many teams can actually afford Tavares. There's not that many. It will mostly likely be that he either stays with the Islanders or signs with a non-contender. Welcome to the cap world.

Of course, to be honest I dont think there has been a comparable UFA to JT since Suter. This is why I was saying you cant say big time UFA's dont want to come here, in reality there are no more big time UFA's. Every UFA pool has been a poor pool for almost a decade.

That's good news? There's no confirmation there will be a Seattle franchise, and even if there is, it would be a few years before they'd actually get a team. That means a few more years of Ken Holland. He should step down after the season.

When was the last time the Rangers won the Stanley Cup? You guys sure talk big when praising the Rangers but no results have been shown. Rangers could buy all their fans designer jockstraps to “show respect” for all I care, they still suck and have not brought in a single Stanley Cup in 20+ years. Their ENTIRE rebuild since 1994 has been a complete and utter failure and here they go trying to do it again. Ya’ll are praising a franchise that failed at rebuilding and has to do it all over again; let that sink in for a minute. In the same time the Rangers have tried to rebuild and go at a cup run (two decades), we’ve won 4 Stanley Cups and we’ve drafted Larkin, Mantha, AA, Svech, Cholo, Ras. We’re ahead of them in the rebuilding as of now. Our owners are better and so is our management (Sather/Gorton).
