Had to bump this up due to the re-signing of our RFA's (sans Larkin.) I think Holland has done a pretty good job at getting Mantha and AA (Bertuzzi and Frk as well) signed to team friendly "bridge" deals, lets hope the comments by Larkin ring true and they can get something done that also allows the team to be very active and flexible come next July (which will lead me to the 2019 rebuild thread...segue)

I actually like AA and seeing how he develops is one of my biggest interests for next season. Some fans saying Blashill is dumb because he doesn’t let AA just go out there and wing it and try to score is just stupid. It’s actually detrimental for his career. He has a far better shot at becoming a solid two way player in the top six than scoring like Ovechkin (whose still miles better defensively that AA) Lets not forget he doesn’t score very much either. Until AA proves it he is just the Red Wings version of Emerson Etem. Casual fans were super high on him too when he first broke into the league

Real talk: the Wings' official slogan for the 2018-19 season should be "WE GO HAM!" With a picture of Helm crashing into that Isles goalie or whatever. I'd buy that t-shirt.

Exactly what I'd like to see if Zadina and Rasmussen make the team. Who's our 4th line then though? Bertuzzi - Helm - Abdelkader, with Glendening and Frk sitting? That would have the potential to actually be a very good forward group, except that A) I don't see Zadina on the top line (if he makes it) and definitely not with two other "kids", and B) I don't see Glendening sitting. A trade must happen... or an injury...

YUGE difference between a casual round of golf with friends and a full NHL season. But, yeah, I'm expecting him to play this season. Assuming he does play, I think he should be one of our two middle-six centermen, with Larkin officially taking over the 1C spot. Mantha Larkin Zadina Rasmussen Zetterberg Nyquist Athanasiou Nielsen Vanek Assuming Zadina and Rasmussen are worthy of scoring-line roles, I think the above is, on paper, pretty much the best top-nine configuration that we can realistically hope for. Second and third lines are roughly interchangeable. No one cares about the fourth line.

Got it! I read it as he was better than any Wing you have ever seen in your lifetime. Now that I look at it and maybe insert my own comma's (not being grammar police ) I now understand what you were pointing out. Not too sure he was better at than Fedorov, but I do get what you are saying and tend to agree. Maybe he had health issues longer than we realized, because for stretches he did take over games now and then.

I like his attitude and I totally agree. It will not sit well with players though, it may cause some guys to split. Speaking of, I wonder how the negotiations with Hanifin are going? He still is not signed. BTW, this should also be the same for ticket prices. Lose for years, don't make the playoffs, ticket prices go down or at least do not get raised. Why not? Hardest working young player, one of the best players on the team, praises teammates during games, actively involved with the organization during the offseason, actively involved in the Detroit community. Meets all the criteria.
