Yup, everyone here has a reputation and knows each other well. That's what I love about this board and why I've never migrated off. I think the board felt a lot more like HF boards back in the Wings heyday. Since the team declined, and therefore the number of fans, this board has only increased in the dysfunctional family feeling. Those who remain are the true hardcores. When the team gets good again bandwagon fans will come back, and this group will be able to say we were here through the bad times... Keep it real you lovable f***s

Hey guys........while this site was down a thread was created on the HOF boards to see what was going on. https://hfboards.mandatory.com/threads/letsgowings-com-down.2679947/ Just wondering if anyone else posts on that site, and if so what their name is. I would hate it if this site ever went down permanently and we all just lost touch. Plus it would be cool if we all have a place to go while its down where we can touch base on things.

Yeah, I can agree with this. I've been here since 04 and have seen a lot go down around here lol. Reading through this thread was a trip seeing some of those old names mentioned. I don't post much anymore but I'll always be around! I love the little family we have here!

Does anyone else subscribe to the Athletic? Dom Lucźzzzzzzzyn (SP) has a great article on the wings. Be forewarned its brutally honest... you may cry a little. BTW love the Athletic well worth the 30CAD for the year.

He's not defensive stalwart and gets lost in his own zone sometimes, but this part of your post invalidates the rest for me as It just doesn't happen. I've seen his positioning in his own zone criticized and chalked up to the pace of the game that he hasn't adapted to yet. I've never seen, or witnessed, this cherry picking mentality you've repeatedly talked about. If you're gonna maintain your normal shtick of being down on Zadina every time he's brought up, at least do it right. This guy gets it. That's a great summary of his defense right now IMO. Also, Art Regner is a giant turd ferguson.

Yes, you have to take Detroit's media with a grain of salt on high level prospects. They're not going to say anything critical of a young high profile player like Zadina till the kid is like 23 or 25, unless he's a complete bust disaster. Guys like Regner mostly just repeat what the team tells them to say anyway. That's how they maintain those jobs/relationships.

Hard pass. Mantha-Larkin-Bert is money, no reason to destroy the best line the team has for a that trade. AA+ would be fine, but, no one from the top line, and not Hronek, Mo, or Zadina.

I firmly believe that the problem with Fedorov "showing up" has a lot to do with his upbringing in the Soviet System. He was forced to live, eat, breathe, sleep, dream about, talk about, walk nothing but hockey in that system, so when he got his freedom to do what he wanted, whenever he wanted, and hockey was just a job, he mailed it in once in awhile because he could. For once in his young life other things mattered and were more important than hockey 24/7/365. If he did continue to give 110% every moment of every day, he would have likely rivaled Gretzky in his prime. Fedorov was that damn good. If ANYONE could flip a switch and change the momentum of a game, as good and as easy as Gretzky did, it was Fedorov. I am still in awe thinking that we almost had BOTH Fedorov AND Pavel Bure on this team!
