There just isn't much to get excited about right now, unfortunately. It has been a very bad year for the Wings and Wings fans though. Datsyuk retiring, Gordie, Mr I, the Joe, our playoff streak probably coming to an end. That's a lot of bad in a short amount of time. This franchise and its fan base are kind of in a state of mourning. It doesn't surprise me to see the lack of activity on this board, even a gameday thread.

I agree with this. Trouba I guess TECHNICALLY is overrated AS OF NOW. But he's also pretty damn young compared to Fowler, Barrie. But he could end up surpassing them when he's their age (25 years old and entering prime).

Trouba is just 22 years old (23 next week), still very young for a defenseman. He is also on the exact same point per game pace as Fowler, 0.51, while Hamilton is currently better, at 0.59. Hamilton is a year older and Fowler is two years older. Trouba is also on a pace as good or better offensively then either of the other two at the same age. Trouba is finally starting to get the appropriate ice time and he has been capitalizing. He would take on an even bigger role in Detroit, and I think he would be an absolute stud. I would definitely take both Hamilton and Fowler if they were available as well, but Trouba would be my number one target, then Hamilton, then Fowler...

Intriguing the wings are said to be interested in Duchene. Unfortunately, as always, we don't have close to what they are looking for. Either way, it seems like a change of scenery would do him good if he does land elsewhere. Wings are standing pat. Only moves kenny is considering is how he can bring eaves and flipper back.

My trade deadline strategy is pretty simple. 1. Trade Dekeyser (for no less than a 1st or part of a package). 2. Trade Nyquist (for no less thana 1st or part of a package). 2. Trade Vanek if you get a 1st, otherwise don't and let him continue to mentor Mantha. 3. Trade Ott, Miller, Ericsson, if anybody wants them. If not, waive the forwards. 4. Play remainder of the season with the expressed intent of giving kids developmental opportunities AT THE POSITIONS WE NEED THEM TO PLAY IN. 5. Reassess in the offseason.
