Barrie 900 Report post Posted January 19, 2016 Living close to Buffalo, I've gone to about 10 Sabres games (8 times they've played the Wings ). Detroit and Buffalo have a lot of similarities, so I've always liked to see the Sabres play well. Things will change though since we're in the same division now, and when they start winning games. PavelValerievichDatsyuk 1,935 Report post Posted January 19, 2016 Habs. Great history and Montreal is something special when they are on a run. I can just open my apartment window and listen for the screams and profanity to keep track of the score come playoff time.

They are only ever something special when price is in net. The team as a whole is garbage without price

The team as a whole is garbage without price Oops, I meant the city is something special when they are on a run. Just the environment of everyone paying attention to the team. There was a class a University of Montreal on how The Canadiens have taken the place of religion as Quebec went through the quiet revolution. It is a dedicated following haha. I agree about the actual team, though.

GMRwings1983 8,803 Report post Posted January 19, 2016 I already posted that I have no other teams, but I do like certain classic teams. Best examples would be the 1977 Canadiens, 1980's Islanders and the 1994 Canucks. I like the history of the game that way, even though I don't root for those teams today. amato 3,210 Report post Posted January 19, 2016 Rivalries: Pittsburgh vs Philadelphia nothing comes even close This for sure. Don't like either team (aside from a couple players) but I love watching them face each other. Aside from that, I really like the kings. Although that took a hit when Lucic went there Also, I really like the oilers, and stars. And would like to see Tampa do well but since they're in our division, not too well haha
HadThomasVokounOnFortSt 878 Report post Posted January 19, 2016 The Wild. I get them on tv, so if the Wings aren't on, I tune in for the Wild games. Every time I've gone to see the Wings play, it's been vs the Wild since they're the only place nearby that I can get to without a passport. Wild fans are generally the nicest people around. You can go to their place in full Wings gear and get treated like a welcomed guest. There may be some good-natured ribbing, but they're pretty knowledgeable (except for the loud ones online, but that's any team). Plus they have a great anthem that is fun to sing along with, even if you're in Wings gear. Now that the Wings are out of the west, the Wild are my team to root for in that conference. Yep. Ram 240 Report post Posted January 19, 2016 Never emotionally tied to any other team other than USA Hockey in the Olympics, WJCs, and now the World Hockey Classic. I really liked watching the Plymouth Whalers when they were in town and always root for OHL teams in general in Memorial Cup and enjoy a Milwaukee Admirals game or two during the season because that's where I live, trying to go especially when the Griffs are in town. xtrememachine1 795 Report post Posted January 19, 2016 Its funny, I used to have several other favorites, but as soon as I watch them in a game against the Wings, I don't like them anymore. Honestly, I don't even feel good about even wearing another team's jersey because someday that team could screw over the Wings. 1 trule23 reacted to this
kipwinger 8,756 Report post Posted January 19, 2016 I see Washington play more than any team aside from the Wings. I dont hate them but I wouldn't say I root for them. I guess I'd say Columbus is my second fav. Or Winnipeg. I liked the way the BJs played under Richards, and the fan support they get. I like Winnipeg because I really like several of their individual players.
kipwinger 8,756 Report post Posted January 19, 2016 I don't watch Winnipeg but I want to see them do well. Favorite teams to watch are the leafs (Love seeing them lose) and probably the Sens. If I had a second favorite team though I'd have to say Washington. Ever since the year Mike Green had like 500 goals in a season I've enjoyed watching them play. Most hated teams: Montreal Boston San Jose PIT I don't even mind Chicago We always seem to beat them and I loved watching Wings Vs Hawks game. It's really a shame we don't play them 8 times a year anymore I regularly forget the Ottawa Senators are a National Hockey League team. If not for the occasional reference to Erik Karlsson I'd forget about them completely between each game we play against them. They're like the St. Louis Blues. Sometimes I catch myself saying "oh yeah, St. Louis has a hockey team...huh".

kliq 3,763 Report post Posted January 20, 2016 When I was a kid my #2 team was the Pittsburgh Penguins by a mile, I absolutely loved Super Mario. I can still remember watching as a kid his game 2 goal against Minny and just being in awe. My current #2? I would have to embarrassingly say Toronto. Cant help it, my father in law loves them and I watch games with him all the time. After watching him watch them lose year after year after year, you cant help but start to pull for them a bit. Though the Babcock move definitely gave me back some of the hate I used to have as a kid towards them.

GMRwings1983 8,803 Report post Posted January 20, 2016 I hope 99.6% of the reason you liked the 94 Canucks was because of Bure. A large reason. Also, I love those uniforms. Plus, I hated the Rangers. That team dressed Odjick, Tim Hunter and Antoski for much of the playoffs. Definitely a fun team to watch.
