Ya know what's great about those thrilling crowd shots of the Vancouver fans? The constant visual reminder of the roughly 75 team logos and designs and color schemes that franchise has had.

    Atlanta Thrashers move to Winnipeg

To all the young punks who think my NHLPA'93 on the Sega Genesis is outdated-you guys look really foolish now as your new games have the Thrashers while mine has a Winnipeg team.

I think Boston are a much better team than you give them credit for. Good depth up front, excellent goaltending. I actually think they stand a good chance of winning.

What can be done to go East?

I know that the best way to move mountains is to get a ton of people to move small stones. In our modern age whenever something needs to get done, it is the masses mobilizing that gets work done. Now we have a year to make sure we are the team to go east, not Nashville or Columbus. What can we use to get that to happen? Well the Wings can use their leverage, but that might not be enough to get this done. The other major tool at our advantage is our fanbase is far larger. We need to use it to make sure the league knows what we can do. I suggest we use the internet and our brains to figure out a grassroots movement to ensure that we are the team to move east. The best idea I can come up with is to make ourselves visible in front of the Arena every home game, and every away game with signs visibly demanding a move to the east, as well as events in front of NHL league offices in Toronto and New York. This means those among us with the means to travel, or living in those markets need to get visible and loud. I also suggest we start an internet movement pledging to boycott away games in the West if we don't get moved, and pledging to travel to eastern teams if we do. The best goal is to make it seem like the league will lose money if we don't get moved. Anyone have any other ideas? Does anyone have the abilities to take leadership on this? Does anyone want to see us MOVE EAST!!!! I have started a tweet thread. #MoveDetroitEast This is the start, Atlanta leaves to go West, Detroit is the only team that deserves to go East. Join us fans! All you twitter addicts, start tweeting using #MoveDetroitEast and let the league know! Can anyone get a website going called www.MoveDetroitEast.org or com or whatever? Edit update: I have established a Facebook page and a twitter movement already! Join me and like "Move Detroit East" On Facebook! Tweet about #MoveDetroitEast as much as possible and spread the word we deserve to go east! Keep up the ideas and effort, remember if social media and protests in the streets can topple dictators, it can topple Bettman!!!

Burrows takes a bite off Bergeron's finger? Being a French-speaker, I think he misunderstood what 'playing hungry' means.

I think Shanny will do a great job. He seems level-headed and honest. It is kind of funny though that the NHL's head disciplinarian has over 2500 PIMS. A committee would still be a better idea than just a single person in charge though. I don't think Shanahan would want all the decision-making responsibility.

    Perfect Realignment Solution

I dont think they would ever be willing to put all of the original 6 in one division. With exception to Pitt, WSH, and VAN, you have all the big markets in one division. Not good for the teams with weaker attendance. EDIT: I do like the idea though, my thoughts were that we could do something similar to baseball NL/AL leagues, or north/south like someones else said.

    Jonathan Ericsson's Value?

It's a tough argument to make, considering Salei had to fight for his roster spot with Kindl this season. And it's not because Kindl was playing awesome. http://www.mlive.com/redwings/index.ssf/2011/03/ruslan_salei_jakub_kindl_compe.html He didn't do a better job than Ericsson this season. In the playoffs Salei's value increased a little because of his experience (and even then Ericsson played over 2 more minutes per game), but the regular season he was a disappointment for a lot of the same reasons as people say about Ericsson. Bad turnovers, not physical as he should be, bad penalties. And doesn't have nearly the first pass that E does. Most of the time Salei just goes up the glass or ices the puck. Salei's value was also less at the start of this season because he's a 36 year old D-man with a long history of injuries. Health is always a question mark with him, so he's not really the best measure of market value of Ericsson. Also, to correct something mentioned earlier in the thread, Ericsson has said he hadn't started negotiating with Holland, so he doesn't know where mlive got the info that he had turned down a deal for $2 mill a year. EDIT: And isn't there already a long thread about Ericsson?

NHL Disciplinary Committe: "Clear blind side hit" Shanny:"Should have kept his head up, no suspension" NHLDC:"Huge boarding call, mild concussion" Shanny:"Shouldn't have turned your back on Raffi Torres" NHLDC:"Joe Thornton, two diving calls in one game" Shanny: "Death"

I do not want Ericsson for 2.25 I think he should take 1.25 and be happy with it.

What can be done to go East?

I live in Toronto, so I'd love to see the Wings back in the East, but other than specific reasons like that, why would the fans care if the team is in the East or the West? I know why Management would want the team in the East (specific business reasons), but what about the fans? Is it because you want to see more games against Toronto, Montreal, Boston and New York? I think part of the problem is going to be the level of interest in the West for games against the Wings. I think there is a good chance that moving the Wings to the East would hurt the league financially.

HUH? He already won the cup with the Wings and then re-signed. That makes no sence.

Brilliant idea. Then next seasons defensive pairings would be: Kronwall-Kindl Kronwall-Kindl Kronwall-Kindl
