Seriously...Who the hell would care about Spurs-Pistons? This isn't 2005. Neither team is relevant.

head shot never even came up. The issue is he launched himself, which is against the rules, plus he has history. Kronwall delivered a nice hit last night, and never left his feet. He never launched himself into the player, he stood him up. The game needs more hits like this, and less players retaliating for quality checks.

Shanny is doing a great job out there. That contact was totally unnecessary. Good that Big E did not get hurt.

OK. Rewatched. The difference might be that Kronwall turned to his back and didn't target the head.

Definitely not anymore. The only reason Bourque is still in the discussion as to being ahead of Lidstrom is because he is a good Canadian boy who played a more physical game than Nick. If Lids was canadian the only real discussion would be if he's 2nd or 3rd behind Harvey. Once he's retired a few years and people take a more objective look at all he accomplished in his career, there's really little question he deserves to be ahead of Bourque. More on topic, I can't really say if he's the greatest Red Wing of all time. It's basically Lidstrom, Howe and Yzerman. You could make a strong case for any of them depending on what criteria you use.

Off topic now, but interesting that you make reference to Lemieux in terms of how wide of a margin Howe led in points rather than Gretzky. I did a quick comparsion and learned a few things (actually, learned one thing and was reminded of a few others). I didn't realize just how much of a wide marging Howe was winning scoring titles. I guess I just assumed it was small since he didn't put up huge point totals. So here is my comparison in terms of how much each led the rest of the league in the years they won the scoring title. I've put % in brackets beause scoring was lower in Howe's ara so his margin would look a lot smaller otherwise. Howe: '51 - 20pts (30%) '52 - 17pts (25%) '53 - 24pts (34%) '54 - 14pts (21%) '57 - 4pts (5%) '63 - 5pts (6%) Lemieux: '88 - 31pts (18%) '89 - 19pts (13%) '92 - 8pts (7%) '93 - 12pts (8%) '96 - 12pts (8%) '97 - 13pts (12%) Gretzky: '81 - 29pts (21%) '82 - 65pts (44%) '83 - 72pts (58%) '84 - 86pts (68%) '85 - 73pts (54%) '86 - 74pts (52%) '87 - 75pts (69%) '90 - 13pts (10%) '91 - 32pts (24%) '94 - 10pts (8%) A lot of people discount Gretzky's stats because he played in an era where every scored a ton. This is true, but the extent to which he dominated is quite amazing. The bolded stats are just plain stupid. Another interesting note, if Lemieux didn't miss the entire 94/95 season, he or Gretzky would likely have won teh scoring title for 17 years in a row. Edit - formatting

My concern is the wings do nothing at all like they have the Past few seasons. There's no doubt wings regular season is always top notch always in play to win the presidents troPh. However come playoffs teams have us figured out. Ask San Jose. I think we have to land a scorer for one of our top two lines. teams that focus on dats and Hank will play for it. Holland hasn't done much and kept the team the same the last three seasons and we've been bounced by San jOse twice. Lost the cup to the pens. Let's try and snag a semin, parise someone.

Exactly. Toronto people just think that the NHL would die without the Leafs. The truth is that they're the only ones that would die without the Leafs. Habs and Wings rule road game attendance. Id assume the other teams that have road following are because the NHL hyped their stars out of control and all the 6 year olds and their parents go to watch Crosby draw pictures in the press box.

The tix should be open to ALL hockey fans. Just block off the exact same amount for Wings fans and Leafs fans, then the rest are open to all. 36,000 for Wings all in one part of the Stadium, 36,000 for Leafs in a different part of the Stadium and 38,000 for general NHL fans who want to attend. When you order, you are asked which team or neither? Then you are given the choice of certain sections for that team only. That way we have a side with Wings fans and side with Leafs fans, then the ends are filled with random fans. (certainly of which can be Wings and Leafs fans.) Imagine the view from the blimp with all Red on one side of the field and all Blue on the other?

You can't pick someone off of waivers and put them in the minors. They have to go on the main club roster, then they could be sent down and would have to go through waivers again. We would have to expose one of ours to waivers. Right now I don't think that is worth it.
